Catholic, Not Christian

It is a recent thing for Roman Catholicism to call itself ‘Christian’. Mainly, Roman Catholics refer to themselves as ‘Catholic’. In New Zealand, during a TV programme, the host asked for a show of hands of any Christians in the new parliament.

Only a few hands went up…but the Roman Catholic member did not put up his hand. He is not a Christian, he said – he is a Catholic. (The Holmes Show, broadcast after the most recent elections).

In my extensive reading of Roman Catholic literature, I have come across this same kind of thinking all the time. Constantly, Catholics call themselves ‘Catholic’, but not ‘Christian’.

The recent title of ‘Christian’ is merely a device used to deceive and lull everyone into accepting the RCC as a ‘denomination’. Remember the oath taken by Jesuits, who will slander their own self and church if it furthers the cause of Rome!

All Jews Are Going to Heaven?

How’s this for blatant dictatorship? “the Roman Catholic church presumes to be able to decide who does, and who does not, need to hear the gospel.” (Nostra Aetate, 1965).

Thus, a Committee on Ecumenical and Religious Affairs (August 12th, 2002), made up of RCC bishops, declared that all Jews are saved and bound for heaven!

This is based on their ‘belief’ in a “deepening…appreciation of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people, together with a recognition of a divinely-given mission to Jews to witness to God’s faithful love.” This is very strange since it is historical fact that the RCC killed many Jews in the past!

It is my own proposition that this new change of heart has nothing to do with beliefs, but with the coming involvement of the pope in the running of Israel (reported previously and in a later section). It has become expedient for Rome to cover-up its revulsion for Judaism for the sake of its expansionist plans in both Israel and the world.

The statement goes on to say that this divinely-given task “leads to the conclusion that campaigns that target Jews for conversion to Christianity are no longer theologically acceptable in the Catholic Church.”

The Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops went further, by saying that the RCC “now recognises that Jews are also called by God to prepare the world for God’s kingdom. Their witness to the kingdom, which did not originate with the Church’s experience of Christ crucified and raised, must not be curtailed by seeking the conversion of Jewish people to Christianity.” (From Religion Today, August 27th , 2002).

These statements completely up-end New Testament declarations concerning the Jews, from whom God has turned His face until the day He hands over to them the task of preaching the Gospel, a task that will be largely removed from the gentiles.

The Jews, like all other human beings, need the Gospel! The RCC is a liar and deceiver.

Rome as Peace-Pivot

Probably, you have never heard of the lay Catholic group known as the Sant Egidio Community? Yet, this ‘Community’ is being given the important role of bartering for peace between Palestinian Muslims and Israelis. Nothing about it in the news media, but powerful stuff!

In a recent international meeting held at Palermo, Sicily, the pope gave the Community his fullest support, for displaying the “spirit of Assissi”. This is a reference to a world-religions’ meeting held at Assissi in October 1986 which, he claims, averted a threat to world peace at the time.

The Community brings together world religious leaders annually. At Palermo this year 456 of them met, to pool their religious resources and ecumenical understanding, for world peace. No fewer than 10 cardinals were included, plus the bishop of London, Richard Chartres, chaired by cardinal Roger Etchegaray, who had convened a similar meeting at Assissi last year, to help “lift the fog of suspicion and misunderstanding”.

At the meeting in Palermo, Israeli and Palestinian leaders asked the Community to help them. “Come to Palestine, come to Israel, and participate in the dialogue.” Laila Shahid, representative of the Palestinian Authority in Paris, asked the Community to “intervene”.

Dan Meridor, an Israeli government minister, said “The Community of Sant Egidio can come to Jerusalem and play an important role, establishing a dialogue which would take the ground from terrorism.”

An Israeli official later told The Universe (September 8th) that Israel needed “outside help” to re-open the “path to negotiations”.

When we reported a few years ago that the pope was involved in secret negotiations that would lead to him helping to rule Jerusalem, there was scepticism. This latest report shows that we were not wrong after all!

Though the invitation to open talks is left to an obscure Catholic lay group, it is backed by the full weight of the Vatican and the pope. Thus, the pope is behind its work, as he waits in the wings to take on a prominent role in world peace.

Rome’s Duplicity

As we have reported elsewhere, Rome does not believe in predestination, especially when it comes to salvation. Yet, it quotes with approval a foundational statement made by historians of the ecumenical movement:

“The whole story should teach us something of the way in which God moves the world through the Church (i.e. the RCC) by leading his faithful people to pray for those things which it is his will to grant.” (‘A History of the Ecumenical Movement, 1517-1948’ , SPCK, 1954).

That statement is one of predestination, for it says that God prompts a person to pray for those things which he has already determined to occur!

Yet, in matters of salvation, Rome abhors election. In its own eyes, whoever agrees to Romish principles is saved, whether they are liars, cheats or killers. So, Rome hates predestination but commends a statement of predestination when it wishes to reap the rich harvest of ecumenicity.

The Arminian Thread

Throughout its vast multitude of teachings Rome is Arminian (amongst other things). Its recent pronouncements are filled, top to toe, with how Rome will conquer terrorism and bring peace, by a recommitment to faith and the church. In every part of the RCC and its huge number of sub-groups the same message is being taught. This is evidence galore of Rome’s coming rule over the whole earth, effected through layer upon layer of sects, cults and false religions, acting directly at Rome’s behest.

Married Priests?

Bishop Maurice Taylor has called for married men to be allowed to become priests. In the RCC this is radical and controversial, but he is being outspoken because of the shortage of RC priests.

The call comes soon after the closure of one of Ireland’s few seminaries, St Patrick’s College in County Tipperary, though the two are not directly connected. Taylor says that celibacy should still apply to single men. How silly and ridiculous Romanism is! No doubt the Vatican will find some way to obscure its own immoveable laws!

Unity With Satan

When the modern ecumenical movement began, the pope was invited to take part, but he declined (1919). He wrote that such a gathering with non-Romanists was not possible because the ‘separated brethren’ who were ‘not in union with the Chair of Peter’ were not obeying Romanist teachings.

However, the pope added that he hoped those who took part in it would ‘see the light and become reunited to the visible Head of the Church, by whom they will be received with open arms.’ (Quoted from ‘Christian Unity and the Ecumenical Movement’, Burns & Oates, 1962). The protestant groups that were then moving toward the first of the modern ecumenical meetings had no idea of the immense harm they were doing to true Christian unity.

In the same book quoted above, the writer says this: “Whoever believes that Jesus Christ promised us his real presence, body and soul, in the Eucharist, cannot feel in communion of faith with those who regard the bread of the Last Supper as a mere symbol. It is not only that they cannot celebrate the Eucharist together, but they would suffer such want of harmony as to feel themselves indeed separated brethren. The same thing happens on the questions of recognising one authority or order of jurisdiction, of admitting the sacraments or not, and of the cultus of the Blessed Virgin (whether it is regarded as idolatry or encouraged).”

From this you can see that Rome wants total submission on all counts, especially the ones listed above. Everything must be according to Rome, not the other way around. We have witnessed this time and again in more recent ecumenical talks. Never think that Rome will relinquish its claim to total obedience! Note that refusal to accept the Mass is top of the list of importance when thinking about unity with Rome.

Even if we rethink these matters, it makes no real difference, for Rome is not the Church, or even a part of the Church. It is not we who are ‘separated brethren’ – it is Roman Catholics who are separated from the truth, as are any other unsaved sinners. Despite all the huffing and puffing and great words of Rome, and the finery of its officers and its arguments, Roman Catholicism is a false church, a cult of the highest order. Its popes are envoys of Satan and its moves to unity are the machinations of the Evil One.

Therefore, I do not fight my brethren, I fight the enemy of God, whose gospel is false and dangerous, leading men to destruction.

Pope like Christ…or is Christ?

Spurgeon once remarked on the way the popes were called God. The present pope will not resign because he feels Christ has put him where he is. “Christ did not get off the cross, and neither will John Paul 2nd”!! (The Universe, 7th July). Calling himself Christ’s Vicar on earth, is he not thereby saying he is Christ? The distinction is very blurred.

Palliums, Emblem of Loyalty to Man

When new archbishops are enthroned by the pope, he puts circular white bands of wool around their necks. On the bands are six black crosses, symbolising their authority and unity with the pope. Wearing their bright red robes, the archbishops thus confirm their allegiance to men and are showing their complete subservience to the pope, rather than to Christ alone. Newly appointed Archbishop Conti of Glasgow spoke of the “imposition of the pallium”…a true way to describe this band of wool that has the grip of cold steel around the man’s heart.

Cults Within Cults!

One of the newest cults within the cult of the RCC? The Neocatechumenates. 1000 in number in England & Wales, and considered to be dangerous until they submitted to the authority of the bishops. Their main activity is to celebrate Mass on Saturday nights & giving their testimonies. Rather charismatic, really! But, like anything that challenges Rome’s absolute authority, it had to submit!
