Why do people believe such ridiculous claims? The Elijah List is at it again with more edifying offers!

This time they are selling ‘healing scarves’. They are “perfect for Shabbat, to accessorise an outfit, as a shawl, to wrap around a wide-brimmed hat, as a table runner for shofars and menorahs, for pageantry and dance costumes, to wave in worship, to hang from tambourines, or cut in half and attach to poles to wave as a flag…Lovely, and complete with embossed scriptures.!”

No don’t laugh, they are serious! Notice the references to Jewish festivals and Hebrew worship? Many charismatics think it’s ever so cool to pretend to be Jewish and to say something like “shalom”. For reasons I can’t yet fathom, they think pseudo-Jewishness somehow enhances their faith.

There is the red scarf for healing, and the purple scarf for ‘song of songs’ (love), all at reasonable prices. The red scarf is illustrated with a crown of thorns, two drops of blood and some nails, to remind wearers of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Alongside the design is a long tassle, after the fashion of a Jewish tzitzit. It is “twisted and knotted in a specific way as a visual reminder that the wearer is covenanted with God, to remember and fulfil all his 613 commandments.” What a theological mess!

It gets worse…the first three windings between the knots “signify the numerical equivalent of the Hebrew letters of the unspeakable name, YHVH.” The rest of the description simply gets worse and worse. All of this to get gullible customers to part with their cash! The Elijah List is truly shameful in its misapplication of God’s word.

Think I’m kidding? Then why not buy their sword-shaped letter opener, complete with the text from Hebrews 4:12?

Or, why not the totally speculative (and therefore useless) book entitled ‘The Fall of Lucifer’? Note the theologically inane introduction: “For eons the love and kinship of three royal angelic brothers – Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer – have echoed through the hallowed halls of first heaven.” The book tells of “opulent palaces and frightening hell-worlds, this is a timeless saga of doubt, of demons and angelic warriors, of obsessive love and treason, and of an ancient evil that knows no bounds.”

The book is supposed to be an account of Lucifer’s fall from heaven…recognise it so far? Of course not! It is not just mythical, it is heretical. All we know is that Lucifer thought he was greater than God and God banished him from heaven. No mention of anything else.

Or, try a CD set that promises “amazing and powerful strategies to live in the Spirit of God every single day of the week!”

That is what the Elijah List is all about – strategies and human inventions, many of them wildly wrong and sinful. But far worse is its ability to make plenty of bucks from error. Avoid it like the plague.

As in OT times

In Old Testament times religions didn’t fight each other as much as they do today. There are examples of unbelievers giving help to believers. This has happened recently, in Amilobe, Indian Ocean. Families have intermarried for a long time, and Muslims live quite happily with Christians. The local Anglican church was finding it hard to get hold of land to build a church on. So, local Muslims donated land for the purpose! That’s right, Muslims. (Source: Episcopal News Service)

All the Muslims I have ever met are the ‘nice’ kind. Anything I write about Islam concentrates on the extreme types, simply because they dominate the news. But, be aware that most Muslims are peace-loving, as this example of cooperation and kindness shows. It doesn’t make Islam right or acceptable, but it does show that peace and mutual respect is possible. This help given in the Indian Ocean is well worth noting and commending. It does not mean our assessment of Islam has been wrong – only that, when left alone by upstarts to get on with simple living, ordinary Muslims are just as sociable as anyone else.

The Extreme Kind

An example of the extreme kind are the two Muslims who murdered a Christian by torture, because he wouldn’t renounce his faith and become a Muslim. This happened in Pakistan nearly two years ago. (Source: Compass Direct). It is this kind we oppose and speak out against. As Christians we would not bother to oppose Islam, simply because it is none of our business. Christians should only speak against movements within the churches that harm. The only time we should get involved otherwise is when movements threaten our freedom of speech (which would cause us to lose freedom to preach). This, plus the continual lies that dupe so many people, and which helps to spread disease, is why we oppose homosexuality. If they did whatever they did behind closed doors, we would say almost nothing. But when they spread malicious lies and drag people into perversion, using bad laws to silence everyone, all people in society must speak out. Our opposition, then, is not because of the sexual perversion itself, but because of the way its practitioners blatantly attack Christians and scripture.

Good News

Moscow has unequivocally banned a ‘gay pride’ march. Good for them! Unlike jelly-spined governments in the EU, the Russians are not afraid of jeers from ‘human rights’ groups!

The people of Moscow made their feelings very clear, saying that they did not want such a ‘perverse spectacle’ in their city.

Moscow’s mayor said that ‘talk of loss of human rights for gays was irrelevant’. ‘All the people of Moscow reject gay demands,’ he said, ‘so who is going to protect their human rights?’ He is to be applauded, and we hope Russia will continue to reject the fraudulent claims of gays.

Meanwhile, back in jelly-spine land (UK) we came across an attempt by the Welsh Assembly to silence a journalist for speaking out against homosexuality. That’s right – the Welsh government is actually trying to crush freedom of speech! This is bad news, not just for journalists and Christians, but also for everyone in the principality. It shows just how weak gay arguments really are. Only those with nothing to say will use law to quieten dissident voices!

(The leader of Cardiff City Council is to ‘get married’ to his gay partner soon. No doubt pressure has come from certain governmental gay quarters on the Welsh Assembly).

When will these ‘human rights’ leaders (who don’t recognise the human rights of Christians) learn that you can quash actions but you can’t get rid of attitude and thoughts? And what business is it of the Welsh Assembly to speak out against a TV presenter, Lowri Turner, by calling her ‘homophobic’? This stupid word is being bandied about every few seconds by people who think they are liberal, but their reasoning is sorely in question if they allow gay groups to swing their opinions against others. Why? Because gay claims are not in line with science, morality or health facts! One Assembly member even wrote to the Western Mail telling it to ‘justify’ his decision to publish the presenter’s column!! Who does he think he is? And how can he justify pro-gay?

The presenter wrote the truth – that gay men would probably not make good political leaders, because they would not have the interests of non-gays at heart. That is true, so why attack her for saying it? She has put into words what most of us think today. Her reasons for saying so are given logically. And how can they be called prejudiced when she was making observations of her own gay friends?

The Assembly grandly accused the Western Mail of ‘overstepping’ the mark. Is this not what gays are doing every day of the week with their lies and deceptions? That is, they say homosexuality is natural – yet homosexual leaders themselves admit it is not. They say homosexuality is safe – but health figures show a different story! And this is apart from the moral side of it. The Assembly should get its act right and stop harassing people for speaking the truth. It is not their job to stop freedom of speech.

Good for the Editor – he refused to stand down on the matter. But, let us be clear about it…when it comes to opposition to homosexuality, it is bound to ‘cause offence’. But so what? It is just the truth, not mere prejudice used to bring about hatred! Gays and their lives cause Christians offence all the time. Their claims cause deep offence. So, why not attack gays, Welsh Assembly? Go on, justify yourselves! How can the telling of truth be ‘offensive’?

I watched a TV documentary last night, about a girl in the USA on life support, who has been in a coma for 15 years. She cannot respond because of her accident, yet thousands see her as a ‘healer’.

From a Catholic family, her mother insists that the girl has healing powers from God. A Croatian ‘visionary’ told her that the Virgin Mary had spoken directly to the girl, who was taken to a Croatian Marian site whilst still in her coma.

Thousands visit the girl’s home and ask for healing. There is, of course, no response, but people remain convinced she can heal them!

The TV reporter was asking what the purpose of it all is. This is no mystery…it’s the devil’s job to steer men and women away from truth. In this case, using a poor, dying girl, he makes people think Mary is behind the healings, and thus guides them toward RC teaching. Simple really.

We discovered our PO Box number had been closed inexplicably by the Post Office, and thought it was closed until the 23^rd March.

However, Barry Napier went to get PO Box mail on the 3^rd April, and found it was still closed! That means a whole month’s worth of communications have been sent back to their senders! As Barry is presently still relying on readers’ kind donations, this is no joke!

We have again taken the Post Office to task over this, but if you have sent anything to us and not received a response, you will know why. If you are worried about this, send an email to let us know.

As we keep saying, if people wish to follow a sexually immoral lifestyle that is up to them. The reason Christians must fight against these people is that they try to force everyone else to accept their ways and beliefs.

But far more dangerous are the minds of these people, who want to silence anyone who opposes the way they live. In San Francisco recently 25,000 young people attended a rally promoting a safe and good life. Homosexuals, of course, quickly heckled the meetings, shouting prejudiced and childish words like “Christian fascists go away! Racist, sexist, anti-gay!”

That’s a good one coming from the most fascist group of all! Homosexuals today are silencing everybody. If that isn’t fascism I don’t know what is! The city puts up with this garbage, because it is overrun with homosexuals. Gays and lesbians therefore think they now own the city and can kick out anyone they don’t like. That is, all who oppose their lifestyles.

I would remind readers of a new e-book soon to be published, in which is documented the words of gay leaders, who report on certain vile and stupendously evil activities by new gays on the scene in San Francisco…activities that will send cases of AIDS rocketing!

The same immoral persons cannot tolerate Christians, and the same homosexuals want San Francisco to remove Christians and Roman Catholics from the city! (They are, as yet, too afraid of Muslims to demand that they, too, should be got rid of!). The real fascists of San Francisco are like cows that willingly hang themselves on meat-hooks for self-induced gutting. How else can we describe men and women who deliberately promote AIDS as ‘good’?

Okay – so pro-gays call us names and demand that we shut up. Here is a simple challenge, made to all in government and the legal system…

We will certainly shut up IF you can justify pro-gay laws and police action against all who dare to speak against homosexuality.

To do this, you will need to prove homosexuality is caused by genetics and that it is not immoral. No, we don’t want emotion or rhetoric. We want actual proof. Because, without it, you haven’t got a leg to stand on!

Can you give us this proof? No you can’t! Your laws and declarations of ‘minorities’ do not hold water and are meaningless. Homosexuals are NOT a ‘minority’ at all. If you’ve got the courage, ask us for proof – because we’ve got it. Have you?

Blairite stupidity is echoed in the USA. It seems that the U.S. government is about to legalise illegality!!

The Senate wants to legalise an unbelievable 13 million illegal immigrants. This follows one million blatant illegals yelling in the streets and demonstrating that they must be made legal!!

Yes, you’ve got it right…people who sneaked into the USA illegally publicly show themselves in the streets demanding legal status.  And they got away with it!

If illegal immigrants can so destroy a law and become ‘legal’ then why not let murderers and rapists get away with their crimes, too?

The illegals were even flying their own national flags above the U.S. flag. Now that really is blatant! It’s the same position in the UK, when Muslims make demands that remove UK traditions, culture and beliefs. They even have their own counter-parliament within the UK!! In anyone’s language it is treason, but our fool-government cares nothing for anything British…it wants to convert us all to a stodge of multiculturalism. As we have already reported, even the head of the government’s equality watchdog says it does not work and will lead to big trouble, if not civil war. The devil is having a wonderful time. Part of his tactic is to mix and confuse, and he’s succeeding big-time.

The U.S. Senators admit that the big protest marches of illegals convinced them to legalise them. In the same way homosexuals have continually harassed governments until they foolishly gave them legal status.

But nastier than that, they have attacked the ordinary folk of the USA and the UK who prefer morality and nicety in life. When those who act illegally can obtain legal status simply by shouting, you can know there is something seriously wrong with governments, and with their ability to think properly. At the moment the only government that refuses to buckle to modern fascists happens to be Russia! They don’t want homosexual immorality in their country – we must hope they can hold out against the screaming antics of pro-gays.

It is true that not all illegals are bad, drug barons, brothel-keepers or violent psychopaths – but if we don’t put a lid on the absolute mayhem that calls itself ‘immigration’ we will create a blitz of unimaginable proportion.

The same can be said of allowing total freedom to, and protecting, gays. They are not all ‘bad’ in the usual wicked sense, but their lifestyle means they are already immoral in their thinking, so they will inevitably condone the worst excesses of their activist friends.

Recently, Irish Republicans mutilated and murdered an informer, even though his informing days were long past. A leopard doesn’t change its spots!

Fighting for freedom? No way – Ireland is a free state anyway. No, this is about the lust for hard power and control, nothing more (except, maybe, cash). As an Irish MP said after recent Dublin riots, the fighting was the result of extreme PC.

He, like us, linked PC with violence and fascism. That’s because violence and control are the aims of PC adherents, whether they are Islamic terrorists, homosexual activists, or Socialists. With such people there is no freedom, or democracy, or any kind of godliness. Instead, there is the silencing of all who disagree, the enforcement of repressive laws, and the doing-down of anyone who stands in their way.

Rowan Williams is not someone we can like. He is a fifth-column all on his own! If you are looking for someone to finally bury the Anglican church, there’s no need to look further than its own Archbishop.

In his own words he ‘swears like a trooper’ when others oppose him, and he loathes the teaching of creation! And what about his statement to shocked newspaper reporters: “Society is missing the point if it expects the church to be in the business of moral leadership.” Why is this a shock, when he openly supports homosexuality?

He also wants to ‘normalise’ Islam in society by paying for Muslim-only schools, yet he condemns Anglican schools for teaching Christianity!

Without doubt Rowan Williams is a thoroughly bad egg. But, he represents a church that has long been going down the pan.

Another dangerous man today, but far more dangerous to us all because he has the power to change laws, is Tony Blair.

He recently praised Islam and grotesquely likened Mohammed to people like Martin Luther and the English Reformers! Did he bake his head in an oven, or what?

Mohammed and his followers put thousands to death for not following him! Blair said that Islam was ‘progressive’ and its holy book, the Koran, to be ‘reforming’. Maybe he should try the truth instead of reading handouts from extreme Muslims!

He even said he has read the Koran twice and finds it ‘beautiful’!! For goodness sake, is he on another planet?

As for Muslim terrorism, he puts this down to ‘alienation’ and ‘political oppression’…a very clear swipe at Israel. He certainly does not have good intelligence about Islam in the Middle East!

In Tewkesbury, a town with the most wonderful ancient buildings, is a narrow alleyway, opposite the Abbey. On the right of the alleyway is a Baptist church dating way back to the 1600’s.

But, it was built to look like an ordinary house. This was to make onlookers think it was just a straightforward dwelling at a time when not being Anglican was treated with prison and hardship. Even so, holding meetings opposite the Abbey must have taken exceptional courage!

The literature describes the place in historical terms, but people like Blair and Williams show us we are not that far away from new, but similar, persecution. Homosexuals & Government are now positioning to attack genuine faith.

Is this the start of the time when ‘someone’ will control who eats and who doesn’t, who works and who is downtrodden?

Recently, a female Anglican priest stopped ‘leading the Eucharist’ because she could not forgive the terrorists who killed her daughter in London last year. You will remember the bomb on the bus and in the Tube.

Leaving aside the unbiblical existence of female pastors, and ‘leading’ the Eucharist…people who claim to be Christians are badly misled by the notion of forgiveness. The woman is still in a state of shock and grief, but she was able to say she cannot forgive the direct act of murder committed against her daughter. Only her daughter could do that.

This is right – only the person who has been wronged can consider forgiveness of the wrong-doer. That is why the puerile ‘forgiveness’ sought by Rowan Williams for bad acts done by Crusaders was futile…apart from the fact that the Crusaders were Catholic anyway!

Scripture tells us that the wrong-doer must firstly repent and approach the person who has been wronged. He must offer heart-felt apologies. Then the other person must accept the apology and forgive. Of course, this all falls to one side if the person wronged is not a Christian, because the concept of forgiveness will not be understood in its Biblical context.

"What are all the glorious exploits that men are so proud of, compared with the tribute of glory rendered to God by his suffering saints?" 

You may feel yourself one of the poorest, vilest, neediest worms of earth; and yet if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ with a living faith, hope in His mercy, love His dear name, and in your vocation adorn His doctrine by a godly, consistent life, you are privileged above princes and nobles, yes, even above crowned heads, and all the glory of man, because you are bringing glory to God. 

It matters not what may be your station in life.  You may be a servant, master, wife, husband, child; your rank and station may be high or low; but whatever it be, still in it you may bring glory to God.  

If a servant, by obedience, cleanliness, industry, and attention to the directions of your master or mistress.  If a master or mistress, by kindness and liberality to your dependants and doing all that you can to render the yoke of servitude light. 

There is not a single Christian who may not glorify God, though in worldly circumstances he be, or seem to be, totally insignificant. 

Glory is brought to God by those who live and walk in His fear, and more sometimes by the poor than by the rich.  Only adorn the doctrine of God in all things, and you will bring glory to God in all things.”
