Recently, one of the ladies I looked after in our nursing home was dying. Just before she died, an aneurysm was evident in her abdomen. That is, a large blood vessel was expanded ready to burst. As I looked at her abdomen, it literally bounced significantly and rhythmically, in time with her heart rate. It looked like someone was pushing a fist rapidly upwards, such was the force.

Why give you this grisly detail? Simply to show that everything is not always all that it might appear to be. I say this to charismatics who live in their own tiresome, gullible world and who believe the absurd claims made by ‘Archbishop’ Gilbert Deyer, who says that he can ‘make women have babies’, not just in the usual 9 months, but in double-quick time…like giving birth within a month of conceiving!

He lays hands on a woman and her abdomen moves rhythmically, as if a baby was moving in the womb. That is why I opened this article with the true tale of the aneurysm! I am not saying that these women have all had aneurysms. I am saying that the body can do all kinds of curious things on its own – but can do much more when acted upon by Satan!

It is as nothing for Satan to cause a woman’s abdomen to move, as though heavily pregnant. That bit is very easy. But, he cannot cause a baby to be conceived and to be born at full-term, within just one month! No, that part is left to Archbishop Deyer! He is presently being investigated by African and UK police for baby-trafficking.

He obtains babies from underworld sources, stealing them from hospitals, streets and villages. Then, he lays hands on a woman desperate for a child, and her abdomen moves visibly. Later, a child is given to her by the good ‘archbishop’.

It is rather obvious that the women who have these ‘miracle’ babies are accomplices to fraud, and are willing to lie to police and others, driven on by their desperation to have children. This is, to say the least, a brilliant partnership, between Satan, a fake ‘Christian’ minister, and gullible, desperate people.

You will note from scripture that when God enabled barren women to conceive, He did not hasten the birth of the children, nor did He just plant seed in the womb without male involvement.

The conception, prompted by God, was brought about by ordinary human means, using both spouses, and the growth and birth were all normal in ordinary time-scales. Indeed, to just plant seed in the womb without human intervention, is to imply that the baby produced was totally supernatural. This deception must be quashed, for only Jesus Christ was born without human intervention…and even He took nine months to be born!

Deyer is an extremely rich liar and a fraud. He is an envoy of Satan, not a Christian. And he is just one of thousands of charismatic leaders who use deception and fraud to keep audiences (I refuse to call them congregations) on the edge of their seats with anticipation and easy-believism.

A reporter from the Mail on Sunday (see September 5th edition) went to watch Deyer preaching, and when he was told she was a reporter, he lunged at her, wild-eyed, and shook her violently, even though he was on a stage watched by hundreds of people! He shouted “You are a servant of Satan. How dare you come to my church to spread lies…I could kick you out (into) the street and you would be dead. You are in my holy empire. Here somebody could die and I would be justified, because you can’t come to my ministry and report things against my will.” Sounds quite like a Christian minister, eh?

The Kenyan has one of the fastest growing churches in the UK, with 35,000 people. This man, who has a private jet, claims to have ‘blessed’ a 56 year old woman with 13 children in just 3 years…even though she has never had sex!!

His congregations treat him as a deity and they believe every word he utters. At the service attended by the reporter, Deyer spent an amazing 4 hours ranting against the authorities, trying to tell hearers that he was innocent. This is mainly because his takings have gone down by 40% since his scam was publicised a few weeks ago.

Significantly, whilst the man ranted for all that time his congregation became increasingly bored…they were expecting some more healings, miracle babies and other charismatic ploys. This upholds what we say at BTM – remove the fancy stuff and charismatic churches would close immediately!

He has sub-pastors, who are shouted at. They obey Deyer immediately as he barks out his orders like an army general. People who donate a lot of money are promised health and wealth, but those who oppose him are cursed and told that they will be destroyed! Ah well, another day at the ranch!

As Deyer ‘preached’ a helper handed him a telephone on stage. It was another reporter wanting to ask him about the charges of baby-smuggling. To everyone’s astonishment he began an hour-long tirade, oblivious of the audience, and his voice became louder and louder, “I will sue you to hell!” he yelled, “You are the devil. Don’t talk, just listen to me. Your country is filthy…You are doomed.”

Meanwhile, this man is being investigated over charges of smuggling babies into the UK. But this does not deter his followers. Friends – I don’t usually say things like this, but they must be stupid.

Because the Kenyan police want to extradite Deyer, he is now about to claim asylum! No doubt, knowing our ridiculous system, he will be granted it and given money to boot!

Frantic mothers in Kenya happened to see photographs of their own ‘lost’ children at Deyer’s meetings, etc., and they are pressing charges. Let’s hope that at least this one charismatic deceiver is put away! Sadly, even if he is, I have no doubt that his followers, hungry for more thrills, will simply look for another deceiver to keep them all happy.

Another reporter attended an Alpha course in Holy Trinity, Brompton. She, too, was not impressed. (The Sunday Times, 8th August 2004). The reporter, Celia Walden, said “The Alpha course gives the beautiful people an alternative to therapy.”

She speaks of Alpha as ideal for thirty-somethings who want to change profession, partner or home, and who have a vague need to do something ‘spiritual’.

Four of her friends have “plummeted into the black hole that is Alpha.” Summing it up accurately, she adds that “Alpha offers an easily digestible boost without the nasty taste of actual sacrifice”. Alpha also acts as a posh counselling and dating agency. No wonder…it has expanded from London around the world, attracting (a long list of celebrities names is given, including Samantha Fox, whose name is found tagged-on to just about every fashionable ‘spiritual’ offering there has ever been…but her dubious lifestyle remains the same!)

With insight she says that “It is all down to one man; not Jesus Christ, but Nicky Gumbel…who started the Alpha course and made a fortune with his self-help tomes.” Walden’s incisive remarks get even closer to the mark as she continues…

“The young and invariably good-looking spiritual hopefuls arrive for their exonerating meeting with Jesus.” She quotes an adherent: “ ‘it’s the perfect way to escape the materialism of everyday life’ I am told by a convert in Prada shoes”.

Again, Walden strikes to the heart of the matter; saying that having a successful life “entails a certain moral angst…which is alleviated in a pleasant way over dinners and chats at Alpha. And if that doesn’t work, the odd stint serving soup to the homeless usually does the trick.” (How many within our churches do the same thing?)

“They enjoy the quick-fix. There’s no pressure to commit long-term, and studies show interest tends to wane after the Alpha honeymoon.” (So much for claims that it is an effective evangelising tool!).

The writer even looks at the theology of Alpha and rightly concludes that it avoids everything that might put people off, talking only about ‘nice’ things that folk want to hear. And every question is answered (I have heard this kind of session myself). As one devotee said, “Everyone’s in need of a little help from time to time”, emphasising the role of Alpha as a kind of watered-down counselling session.

And what of bishop Chartres, who, when talking to one bunch of Alpha-ites, spoke of the mystical experience enjoyed by people who go to clubs and dances and take drugs? (He was trying to liken it to joining Alpha!).

It’s nice to know that this young reporter saw the light – as it really is – about Alpha! Pity those in the churches can’t see it, too.

I will neither gush with support, or wilt with criticism, for George Bush. As a minor minister I know what it is like – whatever action I take, there are always critics and those who hate me! So, I can understand, in my small way, just how beleaguered a President can get.

Those Christians who stand on the sidelines of a ministry, or who conduct a traditional (and therefore well-supported) ministry, will probably tut-tut at him no matter what he says and does.

Which is why I find it most interesting that one of his greatest allies right now is the editor of the Middle Eastern Muslim newspaper, The Arab Times, Ahmed Al-Jarallah. In his own newspaper, this man courageously said what his Muslim brethren are too cowardly to admit.

He warmly commends Bush, saying that only he could do what was done against terrorists. He admits that many Muslim nations forged links with terrorists in order to keep them off their own backs. He says that only Bush could have started the Iraqi people on their way toward democracy, as has been done in Afghanistan.

He said “There are some people who still call the war to liberate Iraq ‘baseless’, citing the failure of Americans to find any weapons of mass destruction (WMD). What they forget is the Americans did find many mass graves where millions had been buried alive. This…was more lethal than any WMD man has known.”

Speaking with approval of the way American troops ‘cleansed the holy places of Najaf‘ of remnants of Saddam’s regime, he goes on to say that “Bush is a man who creates history” and then speaks with less enthusiasm of countries who give in to terrorists, who warn them not to join with Bush.

The editor goes on to bluntly say that the Islamic terrorists only use their religion when it suits them, quickly swapping it for a ‘fistful of dollars’.

Without doubt, this Muslim editor has now made himself an enemy of the terrorists who claim to be Muslim. Yet, he is also the kind of man I have called for – a Muslim who has the guts to face up to the terrorists who kill in the name of Islam.

None of this alters the fact that the Koran does speak of killing non-Muslims in certain circumstances. But, I am glad to report words of courage that fight against the evil of terrorism.

For reasons that are quite unfathomable to me, Swansea Elim continues to display the most ludicrous and useless posters on a very busy main road. Some of them are just ordinary sayings, but many are akin to cartoon-style dialogue. What do we make of this one? “God feeds the sparrow, but He never throws food in the nest.” Eh?

Children often give us a chuckle when it comes to understanding things of scripture. Like the following, taken from school test papers…

“Sampson was a strongman who let himself be led astray by a Jezebel like Delilah.” “Sampson slayed the Philistines with the axe of the Apostles.” “The first commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple.”

“Moses died before he reached Canada.” “The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.” (Today, that is a miracle!). “Solomon, one of David’s sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.” “When Mary heard she was the mother of Jesus, she sang the Magna Carta.” “Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony.”

But I’m not joking when I say that huge numbers of Christians have only the barest knowledge of what God’s word says, and can make remarks that are just as daft.

Sin can take on many guises. The ‘new’ Labour government pledged against many things, which they later secretly brought in. Like the promise not to increase the number of public sector workers. Only recently, Gordon Brown employed 30,000 more! There are now so many governmental chiefs that the poor old injuns (us!) are dying of starvation and ever expanding taxation!

It is a sad truism that most politicians lie their heads off. They make cynical promises that are meaningless, because they know that once in power they will do a turn-around. MP’s feel they have no real responsibility to be genuine and honest, or that they ought to live pure lives. Why do we tolerate all this sin from those we vote in to parliament?

Then, there are a staggering 8 million UK people who do not work. 2.7 million of these are on incapacity benefits. I don’t know about you, but all around me are men and women who wrongly claim this benefit; they obtain free brand-new vehicles and have more income from my taxes than I have to earn by sheer hard work. Yet, I see them enjoying life to the full, without any evidence of their incapacity!

Over one million young people under the age of 25 are unemployed but do not bother to look for work, because they enjoy their lives having free cash (again from us, the taxpayers) and other benefits. Many leave home to live in squats, or even on the streets. This seems weird, but they prefer to do this than to be scrutinised by their parents (later article).

They want drugs, drink and sex, and if they have to sleep rough in order to get them, away from parental controls, then so be it! (I am not guessing – this has been discovered by research…though casual observation will also reveal the truth).

And many older men and women cannot be bothered to work. They enjoy receiving state benefits, so why should they? And as for people with children (a growing number of whom are illegitimate; and many are one of several born without both parents), they are given huge amounts, and ‘earn’ vast sums compared to money I have to slog for.

One carer I work with has seven children. Ironically, because of the ‘income support’ he receives, his wife does not need to work, they have a newish car, and his income is greater than that of myself and my wife combined, though I have trained for many years and my responsibilities are huge!

When we had our children, in the 1970’s, we had nothing for the first child and just 10 shillings (50 pence) for the second. There was no other benefit, and we did not expect anyone else to support us. As a result, we struggled for many, many years and were mainly in poverty.

Today, married or not, a couple can live relatively luxuriously, without turning a hand to work. And that is what many do! The numbers of unemployed soared after Labour came into power and has risen ever since.

On top of that, increasing numbers in the public sector are taking early retirement, with generous pensions paid for by…us, the taxpayer. I have to smile grimly, because though my taxes are helping these people to live quite well without working, I will not myself receive a state pension, and may even have to work beyond normal retirement age to keep my home together!

Socialism promises so many goodies, but, in reality, it only supports those who cannot be bothered to support themselves, and so ‘social sin’ increases.

In the past I have advised parents to check on what their children are up to. I don’t know how many Christian parents think their own kids are little angels, when I see what they get up to with my own eyes! And what they get up to can be very sordid.

A 20 year old girl student fell down the stairs after binge drinking on her birthday. She had been drinking six pints of lager, 2 of punch, and had a ‘spiked’ drink, during ‘drinking games’. The result was massive brain damage and death within two days.

You might think that this is the exception, but it is not. All the youngsters who work with me do the same thing, some every night, even on days that they work! They literally drink until they are legless and vomit. Then they pass out and sleep. They have virtually no money for ordinary things.

And I know, again from observation, that children from many Christian families do the same things. They are not immune to the call of their peers, so watch out for the signs of these disasters waiting to happen. You might be a Christian, but it does not mean your children are.

Do you allow them to go out at night, away from your sight? Well, what can I say? No child under 16 (or even 18) should be out at night without their parents. And all children should be at home after about 6 pm. Not on the streets wreaking havoc for their neighbours, but at home.

And how many children from Christian families are driven by their parents to discos or all-night parties? How many listen to dirges they call ‘music’, containing words of death, drugs and sex, or with rhythms that inflame passions? I see no justification for Christian parents allowing their children to listen to most rock music.

I personally listened to the tapes brought home by my sons when they were younger. And if I heard anything that was not suitable, I told them to destroy the tape, no matter how much it had cost them to buy. I explained to them why I made the order and they obeyed, much to their credit.

Today, to my knowledge, though in their 30’s, they do not listen to ‘rubbish’, though they are not Christians. Much Rock music is dangerous because it makes a listener mindless and open to rebellion.

Readers might remember that when I was younger I was immersed in rock music and sang rock and roll in clubs. I sat up to the early hours pounding out rock music I was constantly writing, and had time for little else, including studying. In the end it was useless to me and I thank God that He stopped me from taking the final step into full-time rock music.

Looking back, the rock scene in the 1960’s was shocking, even then. It has not got better, believe me! So, when I hear of churches that bring in rock music as a substitute for hymns, and when they encourage their youngsters to play in Rock bands in church, I shudder. Parents - beware!

The saga continues, with huge numbers still coming to the UK falsely, or entering illegally. Those who do so have no truth in them and they care nothing for decency. There seems to be no end to the ability of our socialist-led country to hand out our hard-earned national income to those who want only to steal it from UK citizens who are in need. This is not emotive language – it is hard fact.

And there are rich foreigners who come to the UK from around the world just to obtain free NHS treatment. One such man, a millionaire from Cairo, travels to the UK in order to have treatment for his heart, pretending to live here or to be here on holiday! So far the cost to the tax-payer has been £55,000…money that could have been spent on a citizen who has lived in the UK all his life.

The man involved has, at last, had all his assets seized by fraud investigators. But, there are countless others who travel to this country and ‘suddenly’ have an illness or condition that requires expensive treatment or surgery that costs them nothing. They then have a short holiday and return to their own countries.

Each one is stealing cash from our pockets and diminishes the amounts that can be spent on the elderly and those who truly need it. It is so appalling.

The cost of administration for dealing with asylum seekers has trebled since Labour came to power and will reach a staggering £425 million this year! Remember – this is just the wage bill and does not include the other costs such as state benefits, housing, and so on.

Make no mistake - this is down to Labour immigration policies. The government has literally jumped up and down like kids in a classroom who want the attention of the teacher, only it wants to show the EU how compliant we all are by obeying every jot and tittle, even if what the EU demands is not good for the country!

And this goes hand-in-hand with Labour’s penchant for championing idiotic and often immoral ‘minorities’ that cost the country dear.

The stark fact of racial tension is also rearing its ugly head and it is not hard to see why. In Peterborough, where different races have integrated well up until now, even the older immigrants say that the newer intake are very different, hanging around the streets and causing trouble. “Too many are coming, too fast” says the local long-established immigrants who have integrated with society.

As a result of this ‘different breed’, there has been a sharp rise in sexual and other crimes, amongst newer intakes. Older immigrants, now UK citizens, though the same colour and often the same religion, are now afraid to allow their children on to the streets! I don’t accept the notion that it is caused by boredom. It is caused, as with the white population, by sin and evil minds.

The racial tension, according to a leaked governmental memo, is “critical”, as huge numbers of ‘asylum’ seekers are spread throughout the country, ensuring that tension is everywhere instead of in one or two pockets of the land.

And the cost of the Asylum Support Service is also a staggering sum – over £1 billion! And the cost of absurdly giving legal aid to fake asylum seekers was £204 million last year alone.

All of this is money that should be going to our own citizens (including established older immigrants). Instead, it goes to keep illegal immigrants, all of whom are fake…like the Pakistani who brought all his family to the UK under the pretence of the threat of being killed if he returned to his country.

It recently emerged that he travelled to – guess where – Pakistan this year for a holiday and to attend a wedding! He was a liar, simple as that. But will he now be kicked out of the UK? I doubt it.

The education system and the health services are all at breaking point. To put it bluntly, we are fast heading for what Enoch Powell referred to as “blood running in the streets”. Many said that he was racist – but his words were prophetic.

A lot of asylum seekers who get here by lorry and then jump out to seek ‘asylum’ often do so not at the port of entry, but hundreds of miles away in areas heavily populated by Asians.

In other words, where they can hide undetected. They are not, then, genuine, but are illegals. The UK is close to collapse – watch for violent reprisals which, as is the nature of mass protests, is likely to be epidemic once it begins.

No doubt you will remember this callous woman, who helped the Soham murderer to hide his tracks. Though she was complicit with him, and later was found to have committed many acts of fraud, she was allowed freedom, “in the public interest” (??).

Now, she is jumping the queue to get a council flat and has a job, with free police protection and many benefits not available to others. Those who work with her but who object to her presence are being threatened with the sack! And Maxine is moaning that the public don’t like her.

Are we so stupid as to be forced to let such a woman get the cream for being so vile? Yes, we are. It is not just her – others, whose crimes have been even worse, get far more benefits.

The rule is very simple – to get everything you want, just kill someone, or commit awful crimes. And if, by any chance, you are challenged by the law, just join the ‘human rights’ squad and Europe will ensure that you get the lot!

Turkey wanted to introduce a new law that would put adulterers in prison. But, the EU, which they hope to join soon, would not allow it!! So, they have changed their minds.

It is sad that a country will backtrack over such an important issue for the sake of more trade. They will be even more sad when they discover the true nature of the EU, with its grand ideas of empire, expansionism and total control over member states.

Personally, I am sad to see that adultery, is taken so lightly by the EU, when it devastates wronged men and women and twists the hearts and minds of children. Adulterers have an unique view on truth and the world because their hearts are hardened by their own sins. And this causes them to act in a way that is against the best interests of society as a whole. Like murderers and many other offenders of God and men, adulterers should receive legal punishments.

About 20 years ago I wrote a TV play about adultery and its devastating effects on people. Its title was ‘A Kind of Murder’ – because that is how I see adultery. God also sees it in a very serious light.

Adultery can have very sombre consequences, usually ignored or denied by those who practice it…including children who go off the rails and spouses who commit suicide.

The adulterers themselves just shrug, because they have got what they wanted. Do not be deluded – adultery is serious and it can be fatal. The old pleas of “I couldn’t help it” or “My wife didn’t understand me” are sheer bunkum.

So is the scenario where one spouse acts in such a way as to alienate the other. There is still no excuse, especially for Christians. Adultery is gross sin, never forget it.

The man or woman who commits adultery a second time, or more, is showing us something vital about his or her psyche – they are willing to deliberately sin regardless of the consequences, or of God’s wrath. The first time, though still deliberate, could be a terrible mistake. But to do it twice or more, well, it is a sign of an inner compulsion to sin and an attitude of ‘could not care less’.

Such a man or woman lives in their own world of darkness, sin, lies and deception. Everything they do is based on these multiple sins, so we can expect the same kind of attitude toward everything else in life. They also apologise very easily (or not at all), but continue to sin anyway!

When we have ‘Christians’ doing this, we may legitimately question their salvation, for they are wilfully, time and again, going against all that is decent and good and pure. We certainly cannot trust them in any capacity, let alone relationships, for we can never know if they are lying, cheating or defrauding us.

The only real answer is repentance – and genuine repentance is very obvious and sustained. Even after many years of apostleship, Paul used to admit to his awfulness prior to salvation.

But those who commit multiple adultery? They want us to forget immediately and to allow them easy access to fellowship. They rarely, if ever, repent or even apologise, and take umbrage if anyone queries their attitude or actions, displaying petulance and arrogance… Me? Prove myself? Never!

Of all people, they should make every effort, and more, to prove their new holy state. If they do not, it shows the opposite – that they have had their fun, and now they don’t want others to remind them of their terrible deeds (which they themselves do not see as ‘terrible’ at all, for they always have an excuse for their behaviour)! The trouble is, such a person is likely to commit the very same sins again.

Many thousands of Christians read this newsletter. I know that some of them will be multiple or serial adulterers (i.e. more than once). Just remember that whether you are the ‘other woman’ or the ‘other man’, your current partner or spouse is highly likely to do the dirty on you. After all, he or she has already done it before, to be with you! Such a partnership is never truly safe. That, my friends, is the nature of the beast of adultery.

Adultery is never romantic; it is never worthy; it is never glorious; it is never dignified; it is never acceptable; it is never good; it is never godly. It is just a grubby exercise in personal lust, deception, lies and a degeneration of everything that is decent.

As most of you know, I work full time as Deputy Matron of a large nursing home. Because of pressure of work I have two days off, and usually work between 52 and 65 hours a week, which can reduce my days off to just one. Mostly, this is due to my role and position in the profession.

I usually have Sundays off, so that I can take our small church. To do this I start studying and preparing at 7 am, have a very quick lunch and finish off just as our members start to arrive…finding me unshaven, often!

Sunday is, then, a ‘working day’ for me and when everyone has gone home I am rather tired (yet, it is my pleasure and honour)! And in weeks when I have to work Sunday morning, too, I have to do my study and preparation on my other day off. I am too tired after a 13 hour shift, to prepare when I get home from work.

What this means is that I literally have no real time off, and this prevents me from being what I call a ‘real’ pastor, visiting those who need it and doing the other things a pastor should be doing. I am also prevented from putting fresh material into the BTM lists. To my mind, this is a failure.

Thus, I ask those readers who feel led to do so, to pray for my position. Firstly, that I will retain strength for my tasks and ministry and, secondly, that perhaps God might provide me with another answer, so that I am not constantly working and yet have sufficient to live on.

The last logo for the British Council – the government body responsible for promoting British industry, etc., abroad – had a stylised Union Jack. Now, it has changed even a stylised version to four dots! The reason? So that foreigners are not offended by our flag!!

What other country does that kind of lunatic thing? That a governmental body should be scared to show its own flag is ludicrous and smacks of a wimpishness that borders on spineless folly. The Council should be ashamed of itself.

I am glad to report that the EU could be split over the Constitution (The Economist). Then, countries such as the UK could pick and choose which bits they want to adopt. That is marginally better than being dragged into a Constitution that totally denies our own heritage.

I am also glad to see that British Muslim leaders went to Iraq to try to free the British hostage taken by terrorists. Whilst this is good as far as it goes, I cannot help but question it. Not surprisingly, the media have reported that Muslims fear a backlash if the hostage is harmed.

My query is not about what the Muslim leaders are doing (which is good), but about the carefully worded statements that come from them. They say that the terrorists are being ‘unislamic’ by kidnapping a non-combatant.

By implication, even these British moderates must therefore mean (though not stated) that combatants, those in the armed forces, are legitimate targets for the terrorists.

Also by implication, it means that those in the forces can be targeted by Islamic insurgents, who will not then be named ‘terrorists’!! I invite all those Muslims who read this newsletter on the website to answer that objection, for it is the very thing that I have objected to all along. Thus far, British Muslims have evaded the answer.

The terrorists in Iraq are NOT fighting for freedom, for the country has already been freed from a vicious totalitarian dictator and, once the new government has been formed, the US and UK forces will leave. It is NOT about Islam, for most of the country is Islamic anyway. It is all about terror and murder, that is all…the will of the few being imposed upon all others, even if they share the same religion!

Unfortunately, the Anglican Communion speaks of the ‘political objectives’ of terrorists (Anglican Communion News Service) – an objective that does not appear to exist. They just want instability and personal power, that’s all!

Interestingly, this Communion speaks of Israeli measures against a ‘powerless’ Palestine. In Old Testament days, the whole region could have been reduced to stubble and desolation by Jewish kings…and that by God’s command!

The sympathy given to Palestine is inordinate, and its terrorists and school-teachers who train children in the ways of death, are somehow ignored as instruments of war. Palestine has openly said it wishes to wipe out Israel. But nothing is said about this genocidal threat.

I watched a programme about a Cardiff (UK) City Council scheme to help the homeless who live on the streets. It is a commonly-held belief that I do not care for these people or that I would never help them, and, that I disapprove of those who do. This is a misconception. I only oppose helping those who should not be helped, according to scripture.

The programme made statements that I already knew to be true. For example, that about 85% of all younger people on the streets are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. More specifically, if we link this with other research, they did not want their parents to control them, so they went on the streets to indulge in their every wish – including promiscuity, drugs and drink. To support those who deliberately reject morality and decency is, to me, wrong.

Increasingly, though, charismatics and ecumenists push their ‘social’ gospel. This includes helping people who God condemns. God says that those who will not work will starve. He speaks against those who prefer their sin to living properly. Yet, we have churches that give their all to the very ones who God has turned His face against! This I cannot accept. It is a spiritual blunder that increases the sins of those we try to assist, and devalues any real help given to those who truly should get it.
