Son Not Like Dad! It seems that Dr Carey’s son does not believe in the same ‘interfaith’ trash his famous archbishop dad believes in. Heartwarmingly, he wrote against such nonsense in the Church of England newspaper, Nov 30th and it’s good to report something positive for a change! As he puts it: “interfaith worship is impossible”. He was writing about the Canadian military… “A Canadian MP, Art Hanger, put it this way, ‘How on earth can a Christian chaplain represent a Muslim cleric? Unless they’re going to pray to a generic god, how can they represent other faiths?’“ Well said! He was speaking against new rules that forbid Christian chaplains from using the Lord’s Prayer, blessings and talking about the Trinity. As Andrew Carey says, “that isn’t interfaith worship at all, but worship of an entirely new god.” He pinpoints an accurate fact: “…for many Christians the Christian God is a bit of an embarrassment…He ruins all the best dinner parties with those insistent but unpalatable truths, such as ‘No one comes to the Father but by me’.” He follows this with a swipe against feminists, who try to eliminate all reference to ‘He’ in the Godhead. A recent All Saints Day prayer in the USA surprised even his dad. It went like this: “The saints were not those who were perfect. They were parts of God’s creation who struggled and often failed and yet managed to raise up our faith in God and in one another. Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, Joshua, David, Moses, Mary the mother of Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed and all the prophets of old. They led God’s people to God’s light’” That prayer is rubbish – but it is the natural result of interfaith beliefs…and it is the way global religion will take us. We just hope that the son can influence the father, and we are thankful that Carey the Younger has his head screwed on the right way! We thank him for giving us something good to write about at the end of 2001. Heretics a-Plenty Those well-known in the March for Jesus movement and Alpha believe in annihilationism theory. We already mentioned Nicky Gumbel, leader of Alpha. We can add Graham Kendrick and Robert Forster, among others. As we said in the last Beacon, one’s beliefs affect one’s actions and preaching. If a person is annihilated at death, then a preacher will not talk about hell – because it does not exist (or so he thinks). And if there’s no hell, there’s no real urgency in preaching the Gospel. And if everything ends on this earth, one’s hopes stay on this small bit of real estate. Listen carefully to Gumbel’s preaching, for example, and you’ll begin to see why we insist that his message of Alpha is not the authentic Gospel of Jesus Christ. How can it be when he is a heretic, preaching what is not in scripture, and leaving out what is? Those who are not told about hell will simply prefer to vanish at death after living sinfully. Why worry, when God does not punish sinners? Just raise the dust for a while and go out laughing! Why should they believe true preachers of the Gospel when Alpha teaches its theological and Biblical errors so successfully? Charismatic Humbug In matters of theology, the late John Wimber was as bent as they come. He said, “The pope, who, by the way, is very responsive to the charismatic movement, and is himself a born again evangelical, is preaching the gospel as clear as anyone in the world today.” That’s charismaticism for you! (Quoted from Christian Witness) The End of Great Britain “Britain yesterday surrendered 1000 years of legal sovereignty in return for a European extradition treaty”. (Daily Mail, 12th December). From now on British citizens can be arrested by any country in the EC, simply on suspicion. In this is the seed of the arrest of Christians who do not fit the future global religion. It is being justified under the guise of dealing with terrorists. Really, it is giving in to Romanist countries that work on the old Roman system of law, where people are deemed guilty unless they can prove their innocence…the exact opposite of the UK system. The new laws encompass no less than 32 categories of ‘illegal’ activities, including ‘xenophobia’. Whilst it is not right to hate or incite hatred over race, this can be used to silence Christians. Even recently, we received an email (which we have published on our web site) that charged me with ‘incitement to racial hatred’! In reality, all we have done is ask pertinent questions of Muslims involved in violence, which has nothing to do with ‘race’. Yet, this is a taste of things to come. Expect to see Christians put in the dock by this sad and nasty legal system. Muslims will only be one in a long line of cults to try to get Christians out of the way. The system also allows for the detention of the accused for an indeterminate time. See how the global system is being put swiftly into place? There’s far more to come, as, under the name of ‘protection’ and ‘security’, the world will gladly submit to the rule of the few, a dictatorship. Islam We constantly monitor the Islamic scene nowadays. You will remember that we have our doubts about the peaceful intent of Islam. Those who are on the Internet may have read our extensive communications with Muslims and our honest appraisal of Islam and violence. Much as we wish to see Muslims as peaceful neighbours, I’m afraid that they still give much room for doubt. Osama bin Laden has released a video that condemns him outright for organising the New York murders in September, calling them a glorious event for Islam. He recently issued a second video gloating over what he has done and threatening even more mayhem, in the name of Islam. Whilst many Muslims express their peaceful intent, whole Islamic countries still warn the West to keep their hands off other Islamic countries, even when it is very clear that they are just as murderous toward the West as bin Laden. This is worrying, because the ‘nation of Islam’ states that it is above the law. Thus, the Islamic alliances are really telling the West that they support terrorism. So, our original web site question – does Islam support violence? – appears to be answered. Because, as editor, I ask this question and conclude that Islam is, after all, violent, I have been charged with ‘incitement to racial hatred’, even though Islam is not a nation but a religion. The large number of Islamic states have given their answer very lucidly – keep our hands off Muslim countries that harbour and train terrorists who wish to attack the West! This, of course, is intolerable. Even in the past few weeks a British convert to Islam tried to blow up a ‘plane by having explosives in the heel of his shoe. One must also continue to question why this country is being targeted by Islamic peoples via the ports and the Euro tunnel. Only recently, hundreds of them tried to get through to Britain by storming the Tunnel. It has been discovered that the Red Cross official who runs a camp for so-called ‘asylum seekers’ near Calais knew about the forthcoming attempts, but did not warn the authorities. Note that the mass attempts were organised by, guess who?…Afghan ‘refugees’! In the light of this year’s awful events, please forgive my cynicism!! The growth of Islam will eventually lead to repression by Muslims of those who do not accept their beliefs. Take heed….and as you do so, remember that our government has given offices in Parliament to Sinn Fein, even though the laughable ‘peace process’ continues to fly in the face of credulity. When will our ‘leaders’ become men and show terrorists the door that leads to exclusion? Meanwhile India is at the other door, of war with Pakistan, because it harbours Islamic terrorists who attack its people. The world is ripe for global violence, friends. Even in our schools, violence is being tolerated, as the bully of a young pupil was jailed for only 12 months for killing his victim with a single punch. His mother had pleaded time and again with the school to do something, but it refused. Don’t allow your own children to be bullied, friends - remove them from school first. And what about the Australian authorities who found some 15 year olds setting fire to the bush? Though people have died and countless folk have lost their homes in the horrific fires, do-gooders say these young thugs should be ‘counselled and not punished’! They evidently know nothing of 15 year old thugs, who relish the idea of burning people alive!! They might only be 15, but they must be punished’ heavily and immediately. The world is like a fool, prancing in idiocy before a hellish dictator! Illegal Protests Westminster Council, UK, says that posters asking people to say ‘No’ to the Euro currency are illegal. The news took up only a very few lines in a newspaper, but it is a sign of what is to come – the repression of any opposition to the EC. Yet, as a council threatens to take anti-EC protesters to court, hospital officials get away with keeping false figures so that the Labour government appears to be reaching its health targets! Waiting lists are getting worse, but the government produces false figures to support its ‘achievements’! BTM Publication Because much effort has gone in to constructing and maintaining the web site, production of new articles for ‘hard copy’ readers has been slow lately. However, we reproduce the piece by Mr Molland (see earlier reference). This says what we say ourselves – that use of terms such as ‘reformed’, ‘Calvinist’, etc., is not scriptural. We have also prepared a ‘Benny Hinn and charismaticism’ newsletter for those who profess to be Christians yet allow charismaticism to flourish in their midst – it is a devastating piece that clearly shows Hinn and similar teachers to be of Satan. A short article has also been published by BTM. It is a letter sent to us by an ex-homosexual that shows the carnal reasons for adopting this unsavoury lifestyle and dispels the myth that homosexuals cannot help it! Other titles appear in our latest Publications List, which all readers are welcome to. By the end of 2002 our second web site will be up and running. It will include Bible courses and articles just for the deaf, plus their own newsletter. There will also be courses for hearing folk and much more. My thanks go to Natasha and Paul, my co-workers in this, and Director for the deaf, Ian Funnell. Internet Sain The Roman Catholics are at it again! This time they are hot on the trail of a new saint, to look after the Internet. The two top names put forward are Padre Pio (a fairly recent ‘saint’) and no other than the mighty Angel Gabriel. As the RC ‘Tablet’ newspaper says, this shows that Rome has now accepted, and made divine, the Internet. Apparently, many nuns and monks surf the net, so Rome felt they should be ‘guided’ by a patron saint. Padre Pio was supposed to have the ‘gift’ of ‘bilocation’ – being in two places at once (an occult thing). The Tablet, however, favours Gabriel, because he is a messenger. However, Rome’s lap-dog, the Church of England, is warning people about the Internet, with its ‘moral and ethical implications’. Computers used for the Internet are said to be ‘dream machines’ and that ‘every dream has its dark side.’ Another concern is that Internet selling (‘eCommerce’) will destroy town centres and increase inner-city deprivation. I cannot agree with this latter idea. Back 20 years ago when I was studying for my business degree, our economics lecturer talked about the coming ‘paperless society’ when computers would make paper defunct. In reality the opposite appears to be true, as reams are printed out, copying Internet information! The truth is, eCommerce is more likely to enhance and increase jobs, not deplete them. For example, people are needed to run the computers and to check on orders being placed. People are also needed to answer queries and to be the ‘human contact’. Thus, the successful eCommerce companies will go on to install Call Centres, creating more jobs. We can certainly warn about the moral and ethical dangers on the Internet, but we must not demonise it because some use it for greed, power, or filth. Prayer – the New Bandwagon! According to new academic research*, prayer ‘really works’, because it makes people healthier in body and mind! And people can benefit from prayer even if they have no religion at all. It is easy to see the potential of prayer as a new worldwide fad, in the hands of fitness gurus. People can ‘recover from problems taking them in to hospital’, and others are ‘happier if they pray’. Though prayer should be part of our lives and certainly has ‘power’ (within certain Biblical parameters), such researches only cause confusion, and many will no doubt see prayer as yet another tool to be used for selfish purposes. The growing trash-heap of ‘how-to-do-it’ groups within charismaticism show this trend. For example, Alpha (yes, of the course fame) holds ‘how-to-do-it’ courses in ‘dynamic prayer’. They say “Dynamic prayer is about developing more effective prayer and making prayer meetings dynamic and enjoyable.” Of course, they also hold the never-ending conferences in support! The new conferences will look at ‘a vision and a model for corporate prayer in today’s churches.’ In itself, this is enough to put me off! Readers who have had the courage to read our article on prayer meetings will understand why I say that. The conferences will be taken by Jeremy Jennings who ‘leads the church’s corporate prayer’ at Holy Trinity, Brompton, UK. The conferences explore the ‘integration of worship and a variety of models of prayer that together can make prayer meetings both dynamic and enjoyable.’ I predict that the conferences, with adjunct seminars, will be very well attended. The conferences will end with a ‘model prayer meeting based on the teaching given earlier…’. Friends, this is yet another example of the Arminian and very humanistic way Alpha operates. It is a manipulation of techniques, not an act prompted by the Holy Spirit. Of course, those who are devoid of spiritual life, or those who are deceived, will jump at this opportunity. Jesus is far more simple – He tells us to ask the Father to teach us how to pray! No fees and no conferences…and no ‘how-to’ guru gushing forth with his treasured humanly-invented techniques. We say it again and again – Alpha is a heresy. It is cultic in its approach and uses spiritist methods to gain people to its ranks. This prayer venture is another example of its apostasy, no matter how many converts it claims to make. Take heed! One Internet correspondent tells us that we are being ‘elite’ and ‘full of pride’ when we say ‘Take heed’! How dare we say this, when it implies that those we speak to must be deficient! Reader, this is not the case. We are not superior and we do not imply that those we call on to beware are somehow stupid!! It is our task to cry out to those churches who are sleeping. We also cry out to those men and women whose discernment is of the Lord, but who have not yet come to have knowledge of this or that error. Their discernment is made evident when they listen and apply what has been called out to them. As always, they are not called to act merely because we say so, but only when what we say is of God and is found in His word. (Please see the new ‘FAQ’ section of our web site, with its reference to ‘love’). Folk who dislike our work usually do so because they are not true believers. They hate the light of God as it shines on their beliefs, showing them to be less than scriptural. We can cope with that! But can they? Roman Catholic Evil Rides Onward Ask for the latest Roman Catholic News to see why the Queen invited a top RC Cardinal to preach at her Sandringham home – and why it spells a death knell to true Christianity in the UK. As we have said before, the re-Romanisation of the UK is but a formality, and will come to pass. End of 2001 2001 was, in personal and international ways, quite
traumatic. Will the new year bring anything happier? We shall see.
Meanwhile, continue to look to the Lord, Who alone can bring us joy,
which is the real basis for happiness. Good wishes go to all our readers
who, we hope, will stay with us.
