The Old Paths!

I heard recently that Swansea Elim, UK (mentioned several times in the past, as one of the most ardent leaders of the Toronto Blessing in the UK), is still pushing the ‘wonders’ of gold fillings and other inconsequentials! They are still on their ‘old paths’ but not the old paths of God.

Elim must be really hard-pressed to maintain interest if it has to rake over these old bits of nonsense. It also shows that this Arminian and quite heretical church is continuing to dupe its members and the public with teachings and false signs and wonders that are extra-Biblical and therefore examples of charismatic deception.

Its errors are also continued on its exterior notice boards, which have yet another Arminianistic message – to the effect that ‘God doesn’t disappoint you’. Once more, Swansea Elim makes its lack of discernment and Biblical understanding very clear and, sadly, very public.

Such a message, on a notice close to a busy dual carriageway, is telling the unsaved that God is available to them if they only show interest. And, on top of that, He will always give them whatever they desire. How do they take advantage of this fantastic offer? Just go in to Elim, Swansea, of course, and join them!!

When will it dawn on Elim members that they are being hoodwinked and given bad teaching?

We pray, in all seriousness, that the leaders of this apostate church will be caused to fall to the dust and will be brought to repentance, because they are, and have been, teaching heresy and Satanic lies for some time. Their ‘Gospel’ is no Gospel. If they do not change we can only assume that the worst has happened – the Lord has given them over to their own deceits, and has removed His presence from them.

There is good news, though!

Whilst most churches in my own area are either suspect or apostate, one or two remain true to God. In the last Beacon I mentioned pastor Spencer Cunnah. I have heard that he is now offering his fellow church members monthly meetings where they can learn from experts on a variety of topics. I believe the first one was to do with learning disabilities.

So long as topics are examined and taught from a Christian, Biblical perspective, such meetings are valid and important. Knowing Spencer Cunnah, the meetings will do just that. So, good on you, Spencer! (I mention his name because it is worth mentioning, as one linked with the faithful preaching of the Gospel in this part of Wales. We at BTM only oppose what needs to be opposed! It is very pleasant and cheering to learn of the faithfulness of the few).

I have also heard of one genuine church holding exercise classes. There is nothing wrong with these social gatherings. Indeed, they help to ‘gel’ members, who otherwise might just go in and out of meetings without any real attachment to each other.

Perhaps evangelical reformed churches sometimes forget that once they are outside the church walls, members actually get on with living, and they might, quite legitimately, go to exercise classes and attend extra-mural meetings anyway. So, why not do these things together, and apply Biblical principles to the gathering’s purpose?

For our own part, we often go for walks together, or just enjoy meeting for a meal. Hopefully, we shall go to visit a great Welsh heritage site soon.

Life is not just for sitting in a church building – it’s also for enjoying! Others I know of hold art classes. Others go to classical music venues. Any other thoughts? (Paul, in his letters, mentions the sporting activities of boxers, wrestlers and runners...did he actually attend such events himself? I suppose he had to, otherwise he would probably not be able to mention them effectively). Don’t get caught up in the erroneous idea that being a Christian means suddenly ignoring many of life’s pleasures...there’s nothing wrong with rightful pleasure and compatible activities.

More on ‘Mental Illness’

When I can spare the time I will write a more definitive book on the so-called ‘mental illnesses’. Until then, readers will have to make-do with these very short notes!

I was talking with a young lady who presently works as a care assistant in the nursing home. She has recently earned her psychology degree and is working in the Home to gain practical, hands-on, experience with the dementias. Her aim is to work as a Clinical Psychologist as she goes on to earn her doctorate. To prepare her way, her main studies in university were based on the supposed chemical foundations of mental illnesses. As a dementia specialist, I give her help in that sphere, plus material on mental disturbances.

We have been having some very interesting discussions over a period of time, as she began with saying that she believed the mental illnesses exist, giving many behavioural and chemical reasons for her beliefs.

During our very first discussion her jaw dropped when I effectively demolished everything she had been taught about the basis for so-called ‘mental illnesses’. At the end of our talk, she threw up her hands in total amazement, and admitted that what I said made more sense than the stuff she had read and been taught by her ‘expert’ university mentors!

As our discussions go on, she has become ready to accept that maybe the whole basis of her studies was wrong and she is now looking at the subject with fresh eyes. From mental illness we went on to my observations on strokes and their effects, and the brain itself. I think that she now has a far more open and reasonable belief in the wonder of God’s created beings!

Not once have I tried to foist my Christian beliefs on her, because I know that if what I say holds water, it must do so from a scientific angle alone. She knows that I believe in God, and that this affects the way I think...but at no time have I strayed outside of her own scientific boundaries. In this way she cannot say that I am being ‘subjective’!! Now, she is asking my advice on these matters. If I can only alter one future psychologist’s perceptions, I’ll be happy.

I get the idea that some think my refusal to accept the existence of ‘mental illness’ somehow means I am ‘against’ those who claim to suffer from it. May I say that this is untrue. Most folk are ‘mentally ill’ only because no-one has ever shown them a better way. No-one has ever stopped them in their tracks with exhortation and Biblical teaching, and rebuke if necessary. I understand this, but it will never stop me from being frank and to the point.

In my face-to-face dealings with the supposed ‘mentally ill’ I am usually very gentle and will take a long time to help. This is because they need to know the truth. However, if the person continues to ignore God’s commands, I must then become tougher and will not hesitate to rebuke.

As with any sinner, this course of action is needed. Sin cannot be allowed freedom to express itself, no matter what label we put on it, or what excuse we think we have.

Health Service Occultism

A Department of Health and Social Care of the University of Wales, UK, is currently offering a new course to nurses.  It is called ‘Core Process Therapy’.

We wish to warn Christian nurses that this therapy is founded on Buddhist psychology. Like ‘Therapeutic Touch’ this new offering shows how the profession is now becoming enmeshed in occultism, at both academic and practical levels.

Nurses must complete a certain number of courses over every three year period, in order to show their current state of competence, and so they feel forced at times to take courses that are not particularly of real interest. Beware, even for the sake of renewing your professional certificate!

The Indian Earthquake – a Postscript

At the time of the awful Bangladesh floods some years ago, I remember questioning whether God might have brought the disaster on the people of that land for their rejection of Him and their worship of idols. Some thought I was being rather harsh on that forlorn people. In the last Beacon, I made a similar suggestion about the recent Indian earthquake, noting that it came at the same time as the massive multi-million religious attendance at the Ganges. Perhaps some might have thought I was being harsh in that idea, too.

Well, it seems that even a member of the southern Indian government had the same notion (Source: ENI). T John, a government minister, resigned when Hindus protested after he said that maybe the earthquake was God’s judgement on the people for persecuting Christians.

But is he wrong? Am I wrong? Maybe not – as an avid Old Testament reader, I can see plenty of evidence for God destroying whole nations who defy or reject Him, or who hurt His people. Does it happen today? I do not see why not, for God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

And Another Supportive News Item

A Christian businessman has banned Harry Potter materials from his stores. In the last Beacon we warned parents of the dangers of allowing children to read this occultic stuff. Gary Grant, who owns The Entertainer chain stores, believes the role-play toys accompanying the books are dangerous. So, he refuses to sell them.

This is good news, but not enough, for he does not ban the books themselves. I find this odd, because even the books’ author said that young children told her they were copying the spells found in the books! It’s a great pity that this man does not ban the books from his shops, too. He says he does not wish to be a ‘Christian policeman’. Does he not know that this is what God would want him to be? Read the scriptural references about the protection of children.

Linked with this item is the dire need today for Christians to beware of opening their lives to Satan. This can be done in so many ways. For example, how many Christians will take their children to watch the new Harry Potter film, which contains a multitude of Satanic references?

Or, what about watching other films and TV programmes that are so popular today – possibly the most popular of which is ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. This TV series puts out the idea that it is ‘cool’ to fight demons, but it is a great open door through which Satan can wreak havoc in our lives and weaken our Christian defences.

I happened to see just a few minutes of one ‘Buffy’ programme and switched it off immediately. Though the depictions of demons are absurd in many ways, the very absurdity and the way it is all shown as ‘entertainment’, is very dangerous.

After so many years counselling folk who have had demonic disturbances, and having confronted demons head-on, I can only advise Christians in the strongest terms not to dabble with these powerful creatures – not even by watching ‘fun’ TV series and films.

Demons watch for those who are susceptible to their machinations and when they see Christians watching even the most mild depictions of occultism for pleasure, they know that such folk can be manipulated in other areas of the occult.

Only last night I was contacted by telephone by someone who had been troubled for many years by demons. His problems were escalating and he had attempted suicide three times. With him, the problems stemmed from an ‘innocent’ stay at a friend’s home as a child, where he was fascinated by an occult happening.

From a distance of many miles and because the problem was urgent, I could only counsel as I saw fit and told the family what to do, in order to cast out the demons. Later, they told me that as they prayed to God and then ordered the demons out in Jesus’ name, the table shook and voices told the one involved not to listen to God.

Before that the person had experienced visions of a raging bull-like creature chasing him down the road, and an awful half-man, half-animal, creature outside his bedroom door.  Friends, do not allow Satan to find even a small chink in your spiritual armour! Watching ‘fun’ depictions of Satan’s envoys is not the way to go for Christians!

There are many other ways we can attract demons to our side (and yes, they can badly affect Christians, too). Recently, we mentioned one Christian Dad who stopped his daughter attending school during Halloween ‘celebrations’. There is also the fascination with newspaper ‘stars’ columns, buying ‘toys’ that give little messages to children...the list is endless. Friends – just a minor acceptance of  occultism (like watching Buffy!) is enough to ruin a life!! I have been involved in dealing with occult infestation for many years and I can promise you that Satan will not treat you kindly.

Why??

Why is it that churches think it is a good idea to cooperate with evil doers? Some years ago Mildmay Hospital opened the first hospital specifically to treat AIDS sufferers. But the hospital is a Christian concern, and it offers beds for ‘lovers’ of homosexuals with AIDS. They treat homosexuals even if they continue in their sin and openly reject the Gospel – which most do! Thus I cannot see the work as being of God. It not only diverts a lot of money from genuine causes, but it also accepts sin.

A local church I know finances and runs a large ‘counselling’ centre, using far from Biblical methods and having dubious ‘godly’ reasons for its existence, even though its previous venture (housing tramps even though they despised the Christian message) was a disaster.

In Australia, even the Roman Catholic church got it  right, when it pulled out of providing ‘injecting rooms’ for drug addicts. The Vatican rightly said that the scheme would be a “cooperation with grave evil”. Yet, the Uniting Church of Australia (involved in much anti-Gospel work already) has been given an official go-ahead to open a licensed premises in the red-light district of Sydney for the purpose.

Official ‘shooting up’ rooms are said to prevent about 8 deaths from dirty needles a year. It might sound nasty, but I would ask “So?”  The ‘church’ wishes to invite drug addicts in, give them free clean needles, and then to let them out again. No mention of the Gospel. Just cooperation in their sin.

I would repeat that God does not give us warrant to cooperate with sinners in their sins! He says the exact opposite! It comes to something when the cultic RCC gets it right and the professing true churches get it badly wrong!

And Another ‘Why?’

In a previous Beacon we questioned why such a small country as the UK should pay to keep so-called ‘asylum seekers’. We also mentioned the small town in the USA that was completely destroyed by rampaging ‘asylum seekers’ from abroad, who made the once quiet hamlet in to a centre for crime and violence.

The UK is taking in an inordinate and excessive number of ‘asylum seekers’ compared with other countries. Already our soft-headed welfare system is at breaking point. Yet, the Labour government in particular is intent on  stretching it to the limit. As usual it will be the few people left working whose taxes – one of the highest in Europe – will go to pay for the ‘seekers’, many of whom should not be here.

As I have said before, this is not racism, just common sense.  People born in the UK, who have nowhere to live and no way to earn money, are being side-tracked in favour of giving huge money amounts, housing and employment, to people who have contributed nothing to our economy. If those born here were receiving similar benefit, then we would not be so opposed to it all.

At the moment, the bill for paying for asylum seekers is running at three quarters of a billion pounds! This figure was kept secret, for very good reasons! As the Conservatives said, this bill is enough to pay for another 24,000 police officers. Put like that, it is staggering!

Last year there were 75,000 claims for asylum – many for whole families! The figure is rising all the time and ‘refugees’ and ‘asylum seekers’ deliberately travel through other countries in the EC without stopping, because the UK is known to be a ‘soft touch’!

We are heaping up for ourselves a massive problem for the near future and it would seem that the late Enoch Powell’s prediction might come true – that the ‘streets will run with blood’ if immigration was not checked. Jack Straw has admitted that foreign gangs and Baltic-style Mafia are out of control in the UK. Thus his determination to be liberal with our money is reaping horrific results.

Christians should not think we are to help everybody in the world. Only those who need real help ought to be helped. But, even then, it is now time to halt immigration altogether until we have the means to pay for it, and, we can justify it, after our own people have been fed and given work. No wonder other countries laugh at us!

Bulger Killers

In essence we have a similar principle operating in the release of ‘baby Bulger’s’ two killers. Though young boys, his killers knew what they were doing and showed no remorse. Whilst in their ‘soft’ prison they are said to have come close to killing other inmates, but in their haste to be liberal (again) this government will release them soon. The teenagers will receive a lot of (our) money and support, new identities and passports, and will be given a place to live in the sun!

Recently, one of the killers boasted to a non-violent prisoner with a long sentence, that he would have ‘got only 8 years for murder’! Yet, he is being set free.

I remember a case fought by human rights activists in my home city, to release two brothers accused of killing a woman in a shop. They were released, and promptly proved why they were arrested in the first place, by attacking others. This went on for some years and their name has since not been heard, maybe because they are back in prison. What’s wrong with liberal thinkers today?

Animal Rights?

Taking a leaf out of the book of terrorists animal rights’ campaigners think nothing of bombing, maiming and killing, those they think will not comply with their wishes.

Recently, over 1,000 activists ran amok across the UK, smashing up laboratories and attacking the homes of their directors. Just who do these self-opinionated thugs think they are? Even if they had a case to argue, it ought not come down to the evil threatening and abusing of other people.

What rights do animals have? As far as I know, scripture speaks very little of the rights of animals. There is certainly nothing about the ‘rights’ claimed by activists today!

Scripture says that we may subjugate animals to our own use, for food and for work. We may use them for clothing. And, no doubt, we may also use them for medical purposes. Personally, though I do not have a pet, and I do not wish to have one, I would not dream of being cruel to an animal, so maybe that is one proviso. If use of an animal is for strict medical purposes and such use might be harmful to humans, then I have no problem with that. But to use animals for petty things like testing cosmetics, etc., is not right.

Perhaps readers with a mind, might research this for me? What rights does the Bible give to animals, if any?

Decreasing Rights, as Predicted

We have said, time and again, that Christian freedoms are being eroded and will cease before too long. Now, Muslim, Roman Catholic, and Jewish, leaders are trying to ban Christians from evangelising on college campuses. (CH, 10th Feb).

The attempt is being made by Muslim clergy, who have contacted universities to try and get a ban on Christian activities. When the Christian chaplain for Bradford University, UK, told the Imams that they were just as guilty, of ‘defamation’ of Christ, he was ignored. Thus it is okay for Muslims to say what they like, but Christians may not speak against ‘Allah’ and Mohammed! This is the pattern  of things to come – complete shut-down of Christian witness and of speaking against false gods.

Note that Jews and Roman Catholics have joined with Muslims in this act of repression, and fight under a Muslim banner. The day will come very soon when such a united aggression against Christians will prevail.

Not Genes...Back to Environment!

Every so often, theories erupt on the scene that ‘explain’ bad behaviour. We have had chemical ones, social ones, environmental ones and, more lately, genetic ones.

Now, after finding out that human beings have far fewer genes that was once suspected, scientists are swinging back to the idea that badness comes from our environment!

So, poor housing makes a man beat an old lady senseless, or to death; poor education makes a boy knife a teacher; you name it and there is an excuse! Try SIN! Few folk have tried that one, yet. If they did, they’d find that it would answer all their ideas about badness in society!

The same scientists who found fewer genes now boldly state that we shall see the ‘end of disease within the next 50 years’. They base this on the fact that they have found the whole set of DNA for human-kind. Now, they will manipulate the DNA until they can eradicate disease. Or, so they fondly think!

My friends, we will never be free of disease. The vast increase in all kinds of killer conditions should prove that things are coming to a head. The impetus came from the fall of Adam, and has steadily got worse with time. Part of God’s punishment for sin on this earth has been the presence of illness.  So, manipulating genes will not alter the decline of the human race.

The grand and Babel-like scheme to rid men of disease might even provoke God to an anger that will bring us newer and worse diseases! We just don’t know.

We have already experienced new problems such as AIDS and CJD. Current diseases are resistant to so many drugs and previously ‘dead’ viruses are re-emerging. And look at such things as AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases – mostly the increase in cases is caused by the refusal of people to be moral!

Even if scientists were able to produce something remarkable, we will still be filled with our sinfulness, creating even more results of evil.

In hoc signo vinces (and cash!)

In English, the motto reads ‘In this sign shalt thou triumph’.  Historians amongst us will know that these were words used by Emperor Constantine, before a battle. Bishop Eusebius  blessed a large cross, that was taken in to the battle, which was won. Thus, the victory was attributed to the cross and not to God Himself.

Many folk have received an advertising letter from a Roman Catholic ‘father’ who says, ‘I am only a humble servant of God.’! YUK!! The letter says that the recipient has been ‘authorised to receive the Cross of Bethlehem’...Well, a copy of it, for £20, £30, or £34, depending on the gold or use of gemstones. All ‘made’ by  ‘Father’ Johannes in Surrey, UK.

He promises that having the cross will bring good luck, miracles, and all kinds of spiritual good, to the one who buys one. This is because it is a ‘faithful replica’ of the one found by the young Constantine in the year 284 AD at the very spot where the stable stood! What hogwash RC’s can come out with!  And the ‘father’ speaks of the ‘magic of prayer’!

And how naive are folk to fall for this blatant piece of marketing nonsense! But, of course, our ‘humble servant’ is offering not just a cross – he is appealing to base instincts. The cross brings ‘love, health, success, money’! Not much different, really, to the claims made by many charismatics.

Just Around the Corner

I have been in my present employment for a year now. In that time I have watched, and been present with, the deaths of nearly 70 old folk. As we look after terminal cancers, brain tumours, etc., this is not really remarkable. But it goes to show that time is so short.

As I observe all these folk dying I know that, even for younger people, death is just around the corner. That is why God says our lives are like blades of grass – here today and gone tomorrow.

No-one wants to think about death. For me, and my wife, it is a daily routine. And, on occasions, I witness 10 or more a day, when foolish visitors bring in chest infections and flu’. Strangely, life goes on. As I watch these events, I know just how scared of death most of my charges are. They are at the very exit-door of this life, most of them bound for eternity in hell. That is why I wrote a very blunt article especially for old folk in nursing homes, because they have resisted God’s call to salvation all their lives.

When they need to enter a nursing home, it is a sure sign that their demise could come at any time. Therefore, there can be no more pussy-footing around. The Gospel message must be straightforward and blunt. Look at the way Peter spoke to the thousands of Jews in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost! Boy, was that blunt!

We are often guilty of presenting a smooth and comforting picture of the Gospel. One result is that few people listen. The Gospel is NOT about what God can do for us – but is about God’s command to obey. Once again, our local Elim Temple has a poster outside its building that corrupts what God has to say. It says, ‘God is never a disappointment...come in and hear about him’.

What rubbish! It speaks in terms of benefits God can give to those who ‘decide’ to accept Him! In hard reality, God says, ‘You are a sinner bound for hell, and I will send you there  unless you are saved!’ God does not mince His words, so why should we? We must speak gently at times, but let us not fudge the Gospel by being ‘nice’ in order to prevent people feeling uncomfortable!

Folk in nursing homes are already on the brink of eternity...don’t be stopped by their infirmity from telling the truth. The article should be used with discretion, but, far better to hear the truth when infirm, than to hear nothing at all.

Funny, eh?

I foolishly thought that if the Beacon was published monthly, it could be shorter...but how do you not print something that is important?? So, this edition, too, is longer!!

Strange how things work out...on the same day, I had two letters. One told me with great confidence that I knew next to nothing about mental illness, whilst the other was from a reader agreeing with my appraisal of so-called ‘mental illness’, who had prayed to God for Him to relieve her of her supposed ‘schizophrenia’, which she saw as sin!! And God did change her. I wonder which reader was wrong??

The same day I received an e-mail (one of many) from a vicar who is chaplain to a hospital. He said that our web site was ‘dangerous to the Church’ because it opposed ecumenism and charismaticism. He told me that it was okay to join with the RCC on agreed beliefs, even if overall we could not run to Rome! As Natasha, our new support co-worker said, it is disturbing that a man who was a vicar should be so badly taught in scripture. Watch on, Natasha – there is plenty where that comes from!!

One letter from a pastor asked why I was opposed to reformed churches. May I point out yet again that I am not opposed to them! What I oppose is the ‘reformationism’ spirit that has taken over many of them. I love the Brethren, but it doesn’t mean I must love what they say or do! My words against reformed error are to build up the Church, not to cast them down. We build-up the Church on truth, not on lies.

I have already warned Christians about Harry Potter. Now, a fantasy book trilogy called ‘His Dark Majesty’, is being marketed to teenagers and it is a direct attack on Christianity, the Church, and God. (1/27 World). Give Satan an inch and he’ll take a mile...the trend to ‘occultise’ children (and adults) is serious and it is working!

I haven’t written about Reinhard Bonnke for some time. This charismatic deceiver had over one million Nigerians attend his ‘concert’ (it is never a meeting!) recently, and six million in total over six days. He excitedly told the audience that ‘all of Nigeria is going to heaven’ and ‘all Nigeria will be healed’!! Charismatics make wilder and wilder claims as time goes by.

As usual, Bonnke claimed countless healings. He told the huge crowd to chant ‘Alleluia’ until the Holy Spirit entered their bodies!! One observer asked how Bonnke could possibly know what language people were speaking after he told all one million of them to utter ‘tongues’, but did not have interpreters. Bonnke is as evil as the other charismatic big-names. God help Nigeria!

Honestly, it’s laughable! Church leaders, including Southern Baptists, attended an inaugural prayer luncheon (one of those twee things done in the USA!), not knowing that it had been sponsored by Sun Myung Moon, founder of the Moonies!! The same USA decided to award the pope an award. The Congressional Gold Medal was given to the pontiff for his ‘message of love and truth’! Last year the medal was awarded to a RC Cardinal. It is obvious where the loyalty of the USA government lies.

A USA TV programme called ‘Touched by an Angel’ has banned the name of Jesus, but accepts the name ‘God’. Obviously, this is because they want to keep an audience that can universally accept a ‘god’, but who would be ‘offended’ by the name of the only Saviour.

In both the USA and the UK, various ‘Christian ministries’ are going to use the rave scene as a tool for evangelism. This nonsense is far removed from scriptural evangelism, preaching hell, sin and the need to repent!

Think my comments on Harry Potter are over the top? The Pagan Society in the UK says that it gets 100 calls a month from children who want to become witches after reading the books. The same goes for the USA where the inquirers are numbered in hundreds of thousands! This is all being done to soften-up children for worse occult invasions of their souls.

Readers might remember my warnings (which were, at the time, a rare claim to prophecy) a few years ago, that Christians would be attacked from amongst their own kind. The ‘OBF Visitor’ warns that ‘New Evangelicalism is the great polluter’ of the churches. Paul’s warning is coming true today – Christians are joining with unbelievers in ever increasing numbers. To quote OBF: “The great polluting force attacking fundamentalism today is new evangelicalism – an attack from the inside. There is ecumenical evangelism uniting believer and unbeliever. There is the blending of charismatic and non-charismatic. There is the proposed union of Protestant and Roman Catholic. There is the mega-church and seeker sensitive movement.....” Reader – our coming enemies will arise from within the churches, as this ministry can testify.

Again in the USA – homosexuals are putting pressure on supporters of the Scout movement to stop donations, after a judge affirmed the right of the movement to ban homosexuals from leadership of young scouts. This kind of moral blackmail will increase.

Evangelism is more like a carnival nowadays! At a recent Luis Palau ‘evangelistic’ campaign...rock music, miniature golf, face painting, skateboarding and food bars, all entertained the unsaved. The event was praised by the Billy Graham organisation for its ability to draw crowds...and that is why such a crass event is to be shunned. God draws those whom He will. He doesn’t use entertainment.

Hm!!

Is it me?? We had an e-mail recently from a ‘ministry’ that did not wish to provide a link to our own web site. The founder reasoned that “You might note (on my web site) that I have several resources refuting five point Calvinism. I’m not a Calvinist, or Arminian, I’m just an old fashioned Bible believer who takes God’s word literally, in its proper grammatical, historical, and dispensational context. I disagree with reformed theology...”

I won’t mention the man’s name or his ministry, because I have no wish to embarrass him, but his response was, well, rather a mish-mash of unbiblical statements! He refutes ‘five point Calvinism’ (often called TULIP and to be written about by BTM later in the year).

How anyone can refute these five points, which are all found conspicuously in scripture, is beyond me. And to say that he is an ‘old fashioned Bible believer’ is quaint but very untaught, for he claims to take scripture ‘literally’ in its ‘proper...dispensationalist...context.’

Oh dear! Dispensationalism is an error, and it is not how scripture is actually written. Nor are we meant to take everything ‘literally’. Some portions are poetic or figurative, others are literal, and others are straightforward narrative. In other words, we must read it as it is written. Not as we wish to read it.

The man sounds sincere, but he is very wrong in his ‘simple’ approach to scripture. I have noted before how dispensationalists will gladly reject scriptures that speak of the ‘five points’ of Calvinism, even though each point is found in scripture. Thus, our friend is, unknowingly, an heretic, and is not the ‘simple’ Bible believer he thinks he is.

Newspaper Science

A big deal was recently made (Daily Mail, March 5th) of psychic research undertaken at the University of Arizona.  In his excitement to attribute truth to the claims of spiritist mediums, the reporter slid from hypothesis to scientific law in one sentence! That is how all bad science is interpreted and passed off as scientifically viable...the worst product being the infamous and unworkable ‘evolution’ theory.

The university did very little that was new, but it says that when mediums talked with people they had never met before, their ‘success’ rate was up to 94%, when they gave information about dead loved ones that they could not have known, unless the dead really did communicate with them.

The actual report said that it was “the first scientific evidence to suggest that it might conceivably be possible” for mediums to talk with the dead. To those familiar with the language of scientific research, this can be translated as “the evidence does lead to any final conclusions”! But, the main headline for the article, in large letters, read, “Mediums Really Can Talk to the Dead, Say Scientists”!!

See how the public is drawn in to believe this as fact, whereas the report says nothing of the sort? Evolution theory is packaged in the same loose and very unscientific way. By presenting an idea (‘hypothesis’) as a proven fact, scientists can make the public believe anything they wish.

Scientists who do psychic research do not believe in God or in demons. Thus, they have significant gaps in their research methodology, and the scientific ‘models’ they produce from their research are bound to be greatly misconstructed. In other words, their research interpretations are useless!

What these researchers were watching, was the clever dupe of Satan. How could mediums possibly know information about dead relatives, when they had never met the test interviewees before? That is very simple to answer, if you accept that demons exist and that mediums (called ‘witches’ in the Old Testament, condemned by God) commune with demons (evil angels, cast out from heaven by God).

How do mediums get their information? They are not ‘highly skilled’ as researchers suggest. Mediums are, rather, the pawns of evil spirits and are their mouthpieces. Demons have lived since they were created, before Man was created. They have lived a long time on this earth. They knew human beings, their lives, the way they spoke and thought and acted. They can mimic them in most ways and, sometimes, can even appear as ghostly images replicating their appearance.

For demons to give personal information to a medium is easy-peasy!! For this experiment, the mediums met with unknown interviewees. Demons were more than aware of the coming experiment and they also knew beforehand who the test interviewees would be. Thus, the demons who knew the dead relatives came to pass on their knowledge to the mediums. Simple! A bit like cheating at a school exam!

Don’t be misled, readers. Demons are real beings. They have extraordinary powers and abilities. Deception is their game, and to make folk believe in the godless authority of witches is one of their main aims, because it takes the glory from God.

Evil Disguised

Leader of London, Mayor Ken Livingstone, is promoting the gay cause using public money. He will spend £100,000 of local taxes to condone and conduct gay and lesbian weddings! The first ‘weddings’ will take place by the end of this year. As a publicity stunt he will conduct some of them himself, and will give away the first 100 licences. These pseudo-marriages already take place in San Fransisco, Amsterdam and Paris, to the shame of those cities.

Livingstone, a ‘red’ socialist, has rightly been attacked by Conservative shadow Home Secretary, Ann  Widdecombe, for this “absolute travesty which makes a mockery of marriage...”.  Homosexual pressure groups are behind this, of course, because they want ‘equal rights’ in cases of matrimony, inheritance, pensions and tenancies. So, the rampant evil of homosexuality continues unabated, and our money is being used to promote it.

Something Afoot?

I wonder if the Roman Catholic organisation has something up its sleeve? ‘Consistories’ are usually convened every three years or so, and one has only just finished. Yet, no sooner have cardinals returned to their homes, than Rome has summoned them to another one, to be held in May. It is thought that the meeting will discuss the coming bishops’ meetings in Rome, but some Catholic leaders believe the pope will spring something new on the gathered cardinals. We shall wait and see! (Source: The Universe, 4th March).
