Modern preachers, devoid of truth, use worldly means to preach their version of the ‘gospel’. They resort to any old Tom, Dick or Harry Potter in an effort to ‘stay on top of the game’. To their shame!

Is Harry Potter what these preachers say he is – a type of Christ? God forbid!!

Harry Potter is a very successful book series, bringing its author untold wealth. But it is also a very persuasive introduction to witchcraft for youngsters and older people alike.

Because it has portions that appear ‘good’, preachers are hooked, and devise allegories in which Harry Potter is made out to be a good guy, and even a type of Christ. In the last book in the series, potter dies and is brought back to life again. And that, it seems, is sufficient reason to liken him to Christ!

Incredibly, preachers have lost their marbles. Followers of Potter’s escapades speak of the way his friends are so loyal: “they will not turn aside in the face of evil” and they don’t use “killing curses”. So, that makes Potter like Christ?

Wait, there’s more. He and his friends don’t bother much about possessions, so they are not lured by promises of gold.

And, Harry can ‘see’ how his mortal enemy killed his parents… he can ‘see’ through his enemy’s eyes. Maybe I’m picky, but that sounds, well, occult.

But, Harry’s mother stood in the way of Harry’s enemy (Voldemort) when he wanted to kill him as a child. So, say Potter’s ‘Christian’ followers, that was a ‘substitutionary death’. Just like Christ, of course. Get the picture?

A religion-writer for the Dallas Morning News wrote that the first six novels were “remarkably secular” (maybe because they are!): “as far as we know, neither he nor anyone else in the books has ever set foot inside a church, spent a moment in prayer, or acknowledged (or even contemplated) the existence of God. In the new book, as in the earlier volumes, Christmas is a holiday of feasts, presents and decorations – with no whisper of Christ. Some followers, though, think there is Christian symbolism in the background. Two verses from scripture are found on tombs, but none of the characters know they are from the Bible. Instead, they are used in a very unbiblical way.

Sadly, so many Christians also think CS Lewis wrote his Narnia novels as Christian allegories. But he didn’t. When he was told of this, he said “This is all pure moonshine!” And the current Christian avids who think Potter has a Christian message are, well, Potty. They are reading into the novels what is not there. Why? Because they want to justify their acceptance of them, when there is no way it can be done.

John Granger’s assessment of the Potter series seems to have struck home with Christians around the world. In his book, ‘Looking for God in Harry Potter’, he says that Harry Potter’s adventures are ‘Christlike’! Yet, in one book, Harry is possessed by Voldemort’s spirit! And when he ‘dies’ he is raised to life again either by “a symbol of Christ or by love”.

All of this is garbage. Harry Potter is about witchcraft. Witchcraft is condemned by God. And He does not mingle witchcraft with His peerless word, the Bible!

There is no way that a witch, whether driven by love or not, is ‘Christlike’! Nor are Potter’s activities even remotely ‘Christlike’. They are the actions of a witch!

For pastors and preachers to use Harry Potter in their sermons is bad enough. When they use it in their Sunday schools, it is wicked, pure and simple. Children cannot discern what is Christian and what is witchcraft! To cause them to read and to follow Potter is an act of gross sin.

It cannot be defended! What these preachers are doing is equating Christ and witches. They are saying that a boy or man can be a witch, perform witchcraft, and yet be likened to holiness and Christ! They are not just deluded – they will come under the wrath of God, and their congregations will be removed from them.

What this shows is that the pastors who do this are not just misguided. Some may indeed be genuine. But most will simply be displaying their ignorance and the fact that they have never been called to the pastorate in the first place.

A man genuinely called to the office will never go outside the scriptures to deliberately ‘find’ parallel examples of Christ! There is no need. That is what scripture is for!

God did not leave His word incomplete. He means for the genuine preacher to speak from His word, not from books on witchcraft! Why liken Potter to Christ when scripture already contains examples of Christ-likeness and true Christ-like persons? Yes, we can allude to this or that current situation – but there is no way we can offer witchcraft as equal to Christ.

The pastor or preacher who does so is devoid of truth and lost in sin. He is giving people what God condemns, and yet he thinks it is good and suitable. Thus, he also has no discernment and cannot tell good from evil.

Such a man is like those who promote the Alpha course. Read Gumbel’s major book – Questions of Life – where he quotes the singer for ‘Queen’, Freddie Mercury, in a good light, even though he died of AIDS, being a rampant homosexual! Similarly wicked men are also quoted in support of Alpha’s cause.

In other words, Potter and Alpha are the same, because they both use unbiblical Arminianism to promote their idea of the gospel. But, it is not the Gospel of Christ.

Don’t listen to these pastors and preachers, for they are not speaking from God. They have crossed the line by offering worldliness and witchcraft as a substitute for truth.

Truth Emerges

Back in the mid-1990’s when the vile Toronto Blessing was smashing its way through decency and church order, we warned time and again that it was a deception. To our surprise, and to their shame, many reformed Christians rebuked us, saying we should not judge, because God ‘might’ be in the movement! What unholy nonsense!

Now, it seems, the truth is slowly emerging. Sadly, no teacher of the sinful ‘Blessing’ will repent, of course, and no reformed Christian will admit their failure to discern what was truly going on. Nevertheless, the truth is coming out.

The ‘Contending Earnestly for the Faith’ magazine for June 2007, has revealed all. It says that the Toronto Blessing (and the Pensacola ‘revival’ et al), was “satanically inspired; manipulated by crafty men; wrought havoc within the churches.” Well, we said that all along, but as usual, weak Christians could not recognise a rhino at two paces, let alone what is (or not) a movement of God! 

The magazine now calls on Pentecostal and charismatic leaders to openly confess their sins and repent. This, too, we have done over the past ten years or so.

But, the people who persisted in forcing the deception on everybody at the start are hardly likely to do so. They KNOW they did wrong and KNOW the TB was a deception, but they hope everyone will just forget what happened, leaving them to lord it over dissipated and heretic churches.

The plain fact is, the much-claimed ‘revival’ simply did not occur. There is a very good reason for this – the TB was a ploy; a deception; a fake; bluster without the reality!

The magazine says, “To be instruments of deception is a very serious matter in the kingdom of God. These men should have discerned, but they couldn’t see, or wouldn’t see, and they failed to apply the biblical test to tell-tale signs.”

Rodney Howard-Browne, who often spoke openly in demonic ‘tongues’, actually said to God, “Unless you come down here, I’m coming up there to get it!” Unbelievably, thousands took it all in, and no-one rebuked him or removed him from their church platforms!!

When I rebuked the infamous City Temple in my home city of Swansea, UK, I was myself cast aside by people who were once my close friends… because their family members were elders at the ‘church’. Rather than discern what was happening, they decided to get rid of me, because I told the truth!

What now? Will they repent of siding with such grave error, especially by inviting Browne to speak there? Again, I doubt it. They wonder why their lives have not gone all that well since then, but I don’t. God will not bless blatant abuse of His word or of His people.

As we have said before, the TB has certainly not gone away. Like Satan himself, it has just changed its name and format. But the same old evils are still there. Indeed, the movement is still gathering momentum! In typical charismatic manner, David (Paul) Yonggi Cho claims that he prophesied it – even though he never once mentioned it beforehand!!

There is far more to say, but the main point is that the hard facts are now coming to the surface, after over 12 years of being successfully hidden by the men who introduced the lies. We can supply a copy of what the magazine said. It is important that all Christians know the truth.

Meanwhile, in my own city, many pastors have gone quiet on this thing – but God saw their actions and heard their words in the 1990’s, and since. He will deal judgment out to them, maybe even on this earth.

Myanmar

We hope to support the teaching of a new Bible college in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Initially we want to collect Christian books, used or new, for this worthy venture of God, led by a young local pastor and his wife. Barry is also busy writing course material for students.

Philip, the pastor, hopes to have at least 20 students for the first pastoral training sessions next year. We would have liked to get out there at the end of this year but resources and the opportunity are not yet forthcoming.

Thankfully, this small but promising mission work is untouched by charismatic heresy and other cultic influences. Significantly, Philip is a strong believer in predestination and election.

To repeat – we are helpers in the venture. The person who has this ministry is Philip, and, so far, he has done wonders with very little. It would be an honour to assist this venture in a country that has little time for the Gospel.

Global Warming Falsity

Everything in the west is now about so-called ‘global warming’. Anything that goes wrong is supposedly caused by ‘global warming’. And what can you say about a person’s intelligence when the leader of the UN claims that riots in Africa were caused by… yes, you’ve guessed, ‘global warming’?

Global warming does not exist! Warming is certainly occurring in the world – but alarmists conveniently forget to tell us that it is only going on in some parts of the Northern Hemisphere only! The whole Southern part is untouched and remains the same. As for the Polar regions ‘melting at an alarming rate’, this is untrue – measuring stations in the Northern Arctic region tell us they are getting cooler!

A UN delegate was shown just one glacier in Greenland. He was only there for about an hour. His guide told him that the glacier was receding, and this was proof of global warming! But, it was summer, when many parts of Greenland melt. Then, in winter, it all freezes up again! The UN man promptly declared that we were in grave danger from global warming – he saw it with his own eyes!

But, he did not know, because his ‘green’ guide cleverly did not show him, that just a few miles away from the glacier he saw, was another glacier, only it is getting bigger! By the guide’s own criteria, this should prove not global warming, but global cooling!

The global warming charade is gaining ground: newspapers and the media latch on to anything alarmist. They are fed lies by unscrupulous scientists, who know they can get mega-bucks from governments for entering ‘global warming’ into their grants applications… even though there’s no proof whatever for northern warming, let alone global warming!

Yes, there is warming, but only in some parts of the northern hemisphere. And, the alarmists began their nasty work immediately following the closure of a huge number of measuring stations in Siberia and around the world. The average temperature therefore changed! Again, climatologists (and there are very few in the world) do not tell the public that their figures were sent askew by these closures.

Nor do they tell us that the average temperature rise only applies to certain regions, and not all of the north, or that the rise in temperature in those regions is so small as to be almost unrecordable!

As we have said before, the people behind this are hard-core environmentalists. These are seriously warped people, of Marxist persuasion. They have had genuine scientists who oppose their theories kicked out from their jobs as advisors to governments. They carry out smear campaigns against them.

Al Gore, who produced a badly deficient film on the subject, tells lies after lies. He also ran smear campaigns against non-global warmists. Claiming a particular scientist as his ‘mentor’, the scientist kicked back and refused to agree to Gore’s nonsense. As a result he was hounded by government officials and others until he died.

The founder of Greenpeace now denounces what the organisation and environmentalists do. That is significant.

Friends, this is no different from the homosexual scene, or the terrorist scene, because they are driven not by the surface claims they make, but by Marxist doctrine. They loathe authority of any kind (apart from their own), hate capitalism (even though it is money that helps to get rid of illnesses, poverty and effects of third world economy), and hate population increases.

There is much more to environmentalism you should be aware of – we hope to publish a summary soon. Meanwhile, if you donate to ‘green’ groups, hold back until you have read the summary. Far better to support real need – such as preaching the Gospel and helping fellow Christians. Leave the world to its own devices!

Extra News

Another cost has now been imposed on customers of airlines. Easyjet will now charge £3 per round trip to combat carbon emissions per passenger. The extra cost will be used to ‘buy’ carbon credits from a power company in South America. What this means is that companies will have so many opportunities to put carbon into the air, and no more. These will be in the form of ‘credits’, rather like coupons in war-time ration books. If a company wants more credits, it can buy them from another company who has ‘surplus’. In other words, it is supposed to keep the carbon down. But we have to pay for it!!! This is added to the other taxes made on an illusion!

Let it be repeated – carbon emissions DO NOT affect global temperature, and global temperature cannot be measured properly anyway… and there IS NO rise in global temperature!!! It is madness. Completely absurd.

This is like throwing money into a pit for no reason. It will only end if reasonable and intelligent people talk turkey and be truthful. Until then, customers of every company that is into global warming should not accept it all laying down. Tell them they are being foolish and tell them the facts! Otherwise we will end up paying many companies, councils and governments huge amounts out of already heavily-taxed incomes! We have already written to the owner of EasyJet with our concerns and disappointment.

Someone Knows the Truth!

U.S. Presidential candidate, Fred Thompson, is certainly not taking the global warming fiasco to heart! He is fighting it tooth and nail! Good for him!

The Senator likens modern scientists who claim global warming, to those who opposed Galileo. In those days, too, they said that the matter was “absolutely decided” because they all held a consensus view! Today, scientists intimidate other scientists with this ‘consensus view’, even though consensus is anathema to genuine science, because it stops real research.

He quips that he is surprised the modern-day flat-earthers who teach global warming have not cottoned-on to the fact that Mars, Jupiter and Pluto have warmed up a bit. He says they will probably claim these planets, that did not sign up to the infamous Kyoto Treaty, must be inhabited by people who drive four-tracks, leave their heating on and refuse to recycle! This is what they do to people on earth, to make them feel guilty. It doesn’t work on me, though. We need more folks like Fred. Will you be one of them?

Eco-Terrorists?

Heathrow Airport was recently disrupted by a hundred or so people who believe airplanes cause global warming! It’s about time this farce was brought to an end, before we get the birth of an inevitable bunch of global warming terrorists. Along with animal ‘rights’ thugs, we are bound to see the emergence of people intent on intimidating and harming people who will not comply with their concerns. They are concerns rooted in nothing, because what they are fighting for does not exist!!

Big Car Fight

Arguments rage in the EU over the mythical damage caused by carbon emissions. EU Representatives of German car makers are fighting hard to stop their big cars being targeted by the global warming police. They say their big cars are their backbone. It does not matter to me whether or not big luxury cars are produced, but it does concern me that legitimate manufacturers, who are major employers, and big-time earners for a country, are being compromised for the sake of myths. It is nice to reduce muck that comes from any source, but to intimidate and enforce on the back of lies is not acceptable.

Yet another linked scheme, outrageous in concept, is that big-car manufacturers should pay money to manufacturers who produce ‘greener’ cars!! So, a successful maker will subsidise less profitable makers!

Untruths Breed Lies

The reason we bring these matters to your attention is not because we are ‘activists’ or that we enjoy a fight! No, it is because of God’s word. Anything that tries to damage God’s word is suspect and must be challenged.

If we allow just one lie to grow, it will get out of control and finally be accepted as the truth. If we allow many lies to grow, they will be like weeds strangling a garden full of cultivated flowers and plants.

If we allow just one act of filth to have access to our minds, it will proliferate until our minds are full and overflowing with filth. Make such filth acceptable by law and you are in deep trouble, as thousands begin to sample its wares. And so filth grows. The end result is not sweet-smelling roses but foul-smelling sewage.

Every sin must be stopped at source. Every lie should be identified and marked. If we do not do this, we will quickly live in a society that knows no truth and knows no bounds. Already we are well on the way to such a society.

I clicked through TV channels the other day and, out of about 10 channels, six were about homosexuality or one of its variants! This number will increase rapidly, because no-one is complaining or showing they want truth and something more edifying.

Notably, every programme about homosexuality warned that it contained ‘strong language and sexual scenes’. This is not a surprise, because the gay lifestyle is about these immoral things! It is certainly not about truth, or goodness, or propriety, or anything that can edify people. There is also an increase in the number of films and programmes with so-called ‘adult themes’ or ‘adult humour’… both are ridiculous names given to pornographic content!

We have warned before. But who listens?

Youth Boredom

A government report questioned 16,000 young people, asking why they indulge in anti-social behaviour.  Most of them said they were bored. So, there is now a flurry of activity amongst do-gooders to try and provide something for them. My question is, “Why?”

Firstly, all young people under age 16 (if not 18) should be at home, or in a place known to their parents and supervised. They should not be out on the street in the early evening let alone late at night!

Secondly, why should all of us pay for someone else’s youngsters? It is up to the youngsters and their parents to provide any activities. The trouble is, they expect to be entertained, and have been brought up on electronic wizardry, where ‘instant’ is king. They expect too much because they get too much. For birthdays and Christmas, most youngsters get more than one main present! Some get a large number of presents costing a great deal of money. And very soon, they get bored with them! Too much!!

Parents should get their children indoors or at least in their own gardens after supper/dinner! Then, they can’t inflict their bad behaviour on everyone else (including shouting and screaming all the time).

They should not be out at night unless accompanied by their elders. I don’t care if they are 12 or 16 or even 18! And those who are out at night cannot use the excuse of boredom for their bad behaviour. The real cause is their sin, and society should not tolerate it. Even Christian parents do not really know where their kids are when they are out of the house… and guess what – even the children of Christians get into trouble and do stupid or criminal things.

It is about time Britain reclaimed the streets and brought back discipline, from the time children are born. Yes, I mean it. We turn our kids into little thugs by the way we cosset them and give them everything they want. We do it by allowing them to be naughty (another word for sin), from the very youngest of ages.

And giving them expensive presents at Christmas or for birthdays is not the way to go. Not only is it self-indulgent, it is also wrong. Kids who have whatever they want (or what their parents think they want) in warehouse quantities become selfish. They lack discipline and think they can do, and have, whatever they wish. The parents are usually the last to find out what their kids get up to! So, do the rest of the world – and your kids – a favour, and pull in the parental strings. Stop indulging them. Get them to see the true value of waiting for what they want, and even contributing to it. If they are old enough and are working, they should give something towards the home finances, for their ‘keep’. Not because you want money off them, but because otherwise they have a large amount of money and waste it. Or, they keep it for themselves. It does not matter if you are rich or poor – get that keep off them. It is part of discipline and shows them that living costs money. It also shows them that their money is not just for clubbing or going on holidays or other selfish wants. There is far more to Christian parenting than quoting them scriptures!

Articles for Sale? Nope!

Recently, the Czech Republic tourism board held their annual conference. And there in the list of contents was a very long quote from several of my articles, about ten pages. No, not Christian ones… I write on travel, hotels and food information, too. They gathered several of my articles on hotels and quality issues and presented the resulting material quite favourably as a very long abstract. A few months ago Bulgaria did a similar thing. Before that, it was the Basque in northern Spain. More recently it was an area in the USA. And the articles are usually syndicated around the world. I am also contacted by hotel and resort professionals for advice (free).

Yet, I don’t get a red cent for what I write! They are done freely. So far I have not received a single penny for what I write. But, I enjoy it, and I hope I go some way to improving hotel and travel experiences… and I also hope someone out there will at last pay me. I will no doubt accept! In between, I continue to write on theological and Biblical issues.

Try Reading Properly

Unless you receive such emails regularly, you will not understand why I am writing this note…

Some folks contact us because they are very angry at this or that article. They read one article quickly and then read between the lines, so that they THINK they know what we are saying!

A man who we presume to be a Zealot Jew did this recently. In response to something said by the man, Barry made the brief comment that he could “read Hebrew”. The man then sent him what seems to be a modern Hebrew sentence. Barry does not speak Hebrew, so he could not read it. The man wrote back, apparently in triumph, saying “I knew you couldn’t read Hebrew!” No, of course he can’t, as he has said before! So, what was his point?

But, somehow, the angry man sees that as some kind of victory and as proof that Christians and their faith are heinous. Though Barry tried several times to get the man to give a logical or even a readable comment, this did not come about… so we still have no idea what the man was trying to say.

So, just in case he reads this: Barry is taking a read-Hebrew course issued by a Jewish teaching centre in the USA. This allows him to identify Hebrew characters and read text. But, in no way does this mean Barry can ‘speak’ Hebrew! Pronounce a growing list of words, yes, but not speak (as in understanding what is being read). He is the first to tell you that the going is very slow because he has so many other things to do.

We have said all this in previous newsletters, which are a public record, but our angry Jew could not be bothered to look at them. He simply assumed that ‘reading’ is the same as ‘speaking’. Similarly, Barry can read Welsh very well indeed. He can even verbalise what he reads. But, he does not understand Welsh itself! This is funny because he has, in the past, even sung hymns and given readings to Welsh-speaking congregations, and delivered the sermon in English!

Another kind of comment we get is about charismaticism. People read just one article and then assume they know our mind on the whole subject. We no longer attempt to reply, but ask readers to look at all the articles on this subject.

More recently, since Barry has argued against the so-called ‘green’ movement (because of the implications for Christians and what they do), we get a spate of abuse from people who believe that because they have seen Al Gore’s film, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, they know all there is to know about the subject. Oh dear! There is as much science in Gore’s film as there is in an empty can!

We do wish readers would read all similar articles we have published before accusing us of all kinds of heresy, or ‘lying’, or of holding views we do not hold!!

Hypocrisy is Brown

Gordon Brown said he will not give big pay rises to the Prison Officers who recently went on strike. He proudly says that ‘Public sector pay will be capped’. Two things come to mind…

The first is that people enter the prison service knowing the pay and conditions. They chose to work at something hard and possibly dangerous. So, they can’t complain about it when they join. And I find their union’s attempt to wring sympathy from the public leaves me cold. I feel the same about paying injured soldier’s large sums as ‘compensation’, when they join the services knowing they could be injured or killed!

But another, more serious, thing comes to mind… Brown’s hypocrisy. Like his former boss, Blair, he awards himself and his colleagues vast sums of money as salary and bonuses, etc., whenever he feels like it! He says ‘public sector workers’ wages will be kept down. What about MP’s pay? They are ‘public sector workers’, too! Yet, he and his fellow MP’s fleece the country at will, giving themselves huge salaries, expenses and pensions!! In the USA voters are far more vocal. In the UK, voters are wimps who allow all kinds of evil to masquerade as public policy.

It is my honest belief that MP salaries are exploitative of the people and far too much. MP’s should not get any more than a normal wage. Pensions should be no more than is usual for most people. And expenses should only be paid for provable reasons, and monitored routinely by an outside body. As it is we have a government that does whatever it likes, disregarding public good and riding rough-shod over public concern.

Mr Brown has refused a referendum on the EU Constitution. Who on earth does he think he is? I do not like the way people cow-tow to Mr Brown or any other MP. As we have said before, he is supposed to be our servant, not our master!! But, he acts just like Blair – controlling the people with a multitude of laws and acting autonomously. The result is huge government.

In the USA the Republican party rejects the idea of ‘big government’. But the majority party wants to increase government, just like in the UK. The result will be Big Brother (Orwellian-style, that is). If you think the government should do everything, then think again, because when this happens oppressive laws increase and freedom disappears. This is already happening in the UK and increasing at a fast rate.

So, expect to be ruled by the EU, expect our government to become even more fascist, and expect loss of anything you hold dear. No, this is not a prophecy – it is a direct prediction based on common-sense and observation!

The government now want to tighten the screw on Christians, by stopping us from witnessing about homosexuality and other homosexual variants, such as ‘cross dressing’ and ‘gender operations’. The implications are huge and would drive the churches to near oblivion. Ignore it at your peril.

There is a consultation by government http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/communities/frameworkforfairnessconsultation , on the 4^th September, so write quickly with your objections. Or, there will be another victory, as there was with SOR’s. More evil will follow!
