BTM People

A short profile on the main people involved with the work of BTM is given below.  Further background information can be found in About BTM.

Founder: Barry Napier was Chairman of the Christian Research Institute and General Editor of its various publications. Because of the international scope of BTM work, the title 'Chairman' has been replaced by 'Founder'. The Founder has oversight of all BTM ministries and is experienced in all aspects of the work. Academically, Barry holds a number of professional certificates and higher diplomas, plus two basic degrees and a Master's degree. In 2003 Barry was awarded a PhD in Theology from Christian Bible College, USA for his dissertation on "Towards a Theology of Disfellowship", which will be published shortly.

He has 35 years preaching and Bible-teaching experience and is a pastor. At one time he was Alumni Director for an American theological seminary. He is an experienced seminar/conference speaker, whose special interest is the teaching of doctrine, and its application to everyday life. The ministry has been given to Barry and thus he bears responsibility, under God, for it. Others involved are supporters and helpers, much as Paul had the same.

Co-Founder: James B. Waddell was a Director of the CRI and he dealt with administration and other duties.  As Vice-President James deputises for the Founder, is general advisor, does administrative work and is in charge of the Internet service.

Specialist Director: Ian Funnell is Director for the Deaf. He edits special literature for Christians with this disability and is himself deaf.

Administrator:  John Napier is an intuitive computer person who handles computer work and every-day work not needing Barry’s input.

Other support workers (including Barry’s wife, Diane) are drafted in as required. All workers, including the founders, presently work voluntarily.
