Welcome to Bible Theology Ministries (BTM).  The work of BTM is: 

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

 (Ephesians 4:12)

Here is a very brief introduction to our work.

A Definition

What is meant by 'theology'? Many Christians reject the very idea of theology, because they have seen the way so-called theologians have desecrated God's word.

But, strictly, theology simply means 'the science of God'. Sadly, many Christians fear the sciences. They do so because of evolution hypothesis - and because  they are secretly anxious that maybe 'science' is right about it!

Christians should not fear the sciences, for all specialist subjects are 'sciences'! And that includes theology. This is because 'science' means 'a body of knowledge'. So, if we put the terms together,  theology is an accumulation of knowledge concerning God. It also refers to the activity of searching the truths declared by God, in His word.

Since Darwin, a large number of theologians have departed from the boundaries set by God and have searched outside the Bible. This is why they go astray.

BTM searches within the boundary set by God. That is, His word. The Bible is our sole measure and standard. And we teach this to be so. That is our main aim and desire.

Dynamic Faith

A motto of Bible Theology Ministries is: 'Ask-Listen-Act'. Taken direct from a Biblical account of God dealing with David, it describes the way a Christian must live. First: he must ask God to guide him. Second: he listens for the answer. Third: he actually acts on the guidance  God has given him. Surprisingly, few Christians live by this simple maxim.

Most of us prefer to sit back and listen to a preacher tell us what God says. Then we say 'Amen' and do nothing about it! No wonder we sigh with envy when we read the lives of great men and women of God! Yet, that same power and authority has been given to every Christian, without exception.

It is always easier to sit on the fence or to lay back in ease. But that is not for a Christian! Each one of us is a warrior, a soldier made for battle. A true Believer carries the scars of battle. Without scars, there is no real  evidence of faith or of desire for truth.

BTM is a warrior-school. We unashamedly teach others to fight battles. We encourage YOU to be a part of the real Church of Christ. It brings scars, but it also brings peace and joy!

Spiritual Weakness

Over a hundred years ago, unbelieving theologians took Darwin's ideas and used them to invent lies about God and what He said. We had Modernism, Liberalism and many other movements. These all affected future preachers and pastors, who went on to teach unsuspecting Christians the same kinds of lies. For a century or more these lies have infiltrated the fabric of secular and Christian life.

When we were saved ...
We were given power and authority, in the name of our Lord.
We were given spiritual gifts, over and above our natural talents.
We were made warriors - fighters for truth and against error.
We were called to witness in truth to others.
But we can't function properly if we are spiritually inept.

The Work We Do

Bible Theology Ministries (BTM) was set up in 1985 after a long gestation period. At that time it was known as the Christian Research Institute (no connection with the organisation of the same name in the USA). At first the founders were side-tracked in to using a wrong methodology and so the ministry almost died. Following repentance, it was revived again by God in to its present work.

The work is a definite ministry, given for the building up of the Body of Christ, the Church, through the proper study of scripture as it is written, and through a suggested way of observing and interpreting what happens in our day.

Barry Napier, who was given this ministry, is unpaid pastor of the very small Manselton Church, in Swansea, South Wales, UK. This church was started in 1987 as a direct call from God to remove its members from the then corrupt system of churches in the area. Over the years its numbers have diminished sharply, due to death and folk moving away, but as the church is not in to the ‘numbers game’ this does not present a problem, for the aims and witness remain the same.

The work of BTM is reviewed constantly by Manselton Church, BTM officers, and those who read the literature genuinely and honestly. As a pastor, Barry Napier practices those doctrinal teachings he publishes.

This ministry has no formal links with any other organisation, group, or denomination, because its ministry is, like all similar ministries, ‘stand-alone’. However, it has many informal links with all who are of the same mind. Expenses to this time have mainly been borne by Barry Napier and the officers of BTM, and partially by subscribers who kindly send donations. All BTM hard-copy publications are available to internet surfers freely.

The Beacon

This is our main newsletter published two-monthly. It contains Christian comments on the news and Christian matters.

BTM News

The ‘in-house’ newsletter published on an occasional basis. Gives updates on BTM work and personnel etc.

Charismatica

A series of newsletters written at the time of the Toronto Blessing, warning of its sinful nature. Comments on charismatic error, including the root of charismaticism, which is believed to be a cult. No longer published in printed format, we will however publish these on this  web site in due course

Outlines

These are single sheets (two sides) giving introductory comments on a wide variety of Biblical and Christian topics.

Articles

These are longer articles with detailed Biblical arguments. There is also a section offering verse by verse teaching on books of the Bible. Presently, there is an ongoing series on 1 Samuel and 1 Corinthians. New articles are being added regularly.

Courses

We have started afresh with these, and they are being rewritten. Several courses are due for completion in the very near future, so please ask for details.

Internet

Our web site was made put on the Internet in April 2000. Presently, the site contains a limited number of document as hundreds of articles must be reformatted for HTML. The site will therefore expand continually.
